Dr. Mehta did my gastric bypass surgery in 2008. I could not have asked for a better doctor! He took the time to make sure I was okay, and even gave me and my family his cell phone number in case I needed anything or had any questions. It should be noted that my surgery was 2 days prior to Christmas, and I was discharged from the hospital on Christmas Eve!

I have recently decided to have a tummy tuck, which Dr. Mehta will be doing as well!

If you want to be successful in your WLS I would recommend Dr. Mehta hands down! Not only is he experienced and knowledgeable, his office staff if equally experienced and knowledgeable.

I look forward to taking this next journey with the Metha Obesity Center!

I went to meet Dr. Mehta before my lapband was placed. Ive met with 4 doctors and Mehta is the ONLY one that asks for a $3000 copay. In comparison to other people who have used different surgeons as well, Its unheard of. I was immediately turned of.

I really liked Dr. Mehta. He took a lot of time with me. I didn't feel rushed. His office staff is fantastic. His office manager, Lulu, is extremely helpful and a really nice person. He has a good bedside manner and is a good surgeon. I would, and have, recommend him to anyone considering WLS.

Dr. Mehta, Lulu and his entire office staff has been so helpful and friendly through the entire process. If you are looking for a GREAT comfortable place to go he is your doctor. I had my the Realize Band surgery done on 12/9/2009 prior to the surgery Dr. Mehta, Lulu and his staff took the time to sit with me to ensure i was aware of what to expect during and after the surgery as well as how important the follow up care is. I was recomended to see Dr. Mehta from my sister who was a patient at the time, I was hesitant only because his office was 2 hrs. from my home. I must say now I am so glad i made the decision i did to make the journey each month and tackle the snow, ice, sleet and rain to get to the hospital because I don't believe I could have found a better staff of professionals that made me quite so comfortable. THANK YOU DR. MEHTA

When I initially met with Dr. Mehta I wanted to have the lapband. He told me that I needed to have bypass due to the amount of weight I needed to lose. Relucantly I agreed. I went through my 6 months supervised diet with his office and lost 55 pounds. I was originally scheduled for surgery August 10th but fell down a flight of steps in late July and did nerve damage and was off my feet for a few weeks so my srugery had to be postponed. When I spoke to his office regarding my leg he suggested since I was approved I get the band done. I questionned this since it was not an option when I came in initially. I said no I would wait the few weeks of therapy out. My surgery was rescheduled for August 31st. I went for my pre surgery visit a few days earlier and had a severe respiratory infection. I asked for an antibiotic but did not get one. He felt I would be fine in a few days for surgery and collected my $3,000 co pay. I called him the day before surgery and was very sick with a respiratory infection and he said I could not go under anesthesia like that and would need to postpone. After this second disappointment I decided to lose the additional 60 pounds so that I could get the band done. I asked them to return my copay and I would continue working with him on the medically supervised diet until I lost the additional weight so I could get the band. The receptionist informed me that my $3,000 copay would be returned and we would work towards the band. Well, the check arrived today for $2500 - the doctor kept $500 for him time in reviewing my file. Needless to say I have now decided to use another surgeon. I paid my copay at every visit. There was no reason to charge this fee. My sister is also scheduled for the band and her last visit she was told not to lose any more weight or she might not be eligible for the surgery. I have to wonder is it the patients best interest or his pocketbook that he has at heart. Very disappointed at how he handled this situation.
