Dr. Westmoreland is an amazing surgeon and cares a lot about your success. His nutritionists Heather and Susan are personable and helpful.

I cannot say the same things about his office staff. They cannot relay a simple message, they tell you people are at lunch when they're on vacation so you wait all afternoon for a return call you'll never get, and they try to charge you for things you shouldn't be charged for.

Some of his nurses are just as bad. They cannot operate the automatic blood pressure cuff and inflict you with several minutes of pain with it before giving up and not even getting a reading. Then when you ask them to check your blood pressure manually, they say the cuff is broken. This has happened at more than one appointment. Wouldn't you think a bariatric office would find your current blood pressure to be important?

The gleaming examples in his staff are really the hospital's staff (MTMC). Anne Marie (the bariatric program coordinator) and Shavon (the bariatric insurance specialist) really know their stuff and are incredibly supportive during your process.

I wish I could give Dr. Westmoreland 5 stars and give his office 1 star.

I love my physician. Dr. Westmoreland and his staff along with the Bariatric Center have been very throuough with tons of information prior to surgery. The monthly support group is very helpful. Having an inhouse dietician has also been helpful with my questions and keeping on track. I can't say enough about this kind surgeon and his staff!

Oh my God what can I say about my wonderful doctor. Since the very first visit to the last, he showed me the human side of him. Just knowing that his hands had the technicque but he was following God's direction, gave me peace and trust to say "yes"! when he asked me prior to my surgery:" if I was really sure and ready for surgery". I traveled 895 miles from Florida, to put myself in his hands, and I did not regret any part of this decision. The staff and specially Susan, went out of her way to accomodate me everytime, and they were all very professional and caring. I can not offer enough posititve comments toward Dr Westmoreland, his staff, and the staff at Heritage Medical Center in Shelbyville, TN. I had VGS surgery on 8-11-11 and it went like clockwork. The journey began years ago, and I am so thankful that I am now starting this new adventure. I have tried for 6 years to get insurance coverage for bariatric surgery, without success. I am under the 40 BMI requirement, but was well over 35 and I am healthy other than being morbidly obese (that's ridiculous sounding I know), so no insurance would pay. I was looking and praying for an affordable self pay option in my area and by the grace of God, I saw Dr Westmoreland's name on a discussion board. I called Murfreesboro Surgical and spoke with his staff and they quoted a self pay price of $12000, if I were willing to have the procedure in Shelbyville, TN. I research closely the facility and after meeting Dr Westmoreland, I had absolutely NO reservations about having him as my surgeon. He is a Christian and is very verbal about it and this was very comforting. His creditials are great and he has years of experience. I strongly recommend him!

Dr. Westmoreland is a great doctor and did a wonderful job on my surgery. He is very proactive when you have problems and does a great job at diagnostics. My surgery was at the new hospital in Murfreesboro and the nursing quality there varies GREATLY. I had a nurse that was habitually late with my pain meds and had to suffer a bit because of it. Another nurse there was absolutely wonderful. Just be proactive and ask for a manager if you are getting substandard care.

Dr. Westmoreland is honest and up-front. His initial session was very informative. Follow-up meetings he shared less information. If I didn't have questions not much information was shared. He is a Christian, which is important to me.

I loved Dr Westmoreland and his staff. Everyone has been great to work with and very very supportive. Dr Westmorland answered all my questions and made both myself and my family feel totally at ease with everything. There really are no words to describe how wonderful I feel. Dr Westmoreland gave me my life back. Every step of the way his staff has provided the tools I need to be successful.

Dr. Westmoreland impressed me at the informational seminar when he said he could do the surgery but it took God to do the healing.
The day after my surgery he prayed with me for God's healing. He kept me well informed as to what I could expect. He has a very structured aftercare program. I would rate him A+++.

Dr. Westmoreland has from the beginning been a wonderful source of information and inspiration! His strong faith in the Lord truly puts him above any other doctor I have ever had! My experience with him has been nothing but completely rewarding! He goes above and beyond and every time I have the pleasure of seeing him or getting a phone call from him, it always lifts my spirits no matter how bad things may seem! My surgery went off with out a hitch, but I caught a virus that landed me in the hospital a few weeks ago. He came to visit me almost every day and if I didn't see him I received a phone call! As far as the office staff goes, sometimes the ladies that answer the phone are a little stuffy, but the nurses always call back and I love Stacey! She is so sweet and always answers any questions I can think of! Heather, the nutritionist, is wonderful as well! When I have a question she always calls me back and listens and gives the best advise! I would recommend these wonderful people to anyone considering WLS!!!! They saved my life!

Dr Westmoreland is a great doctor. I ended up with only one large incision and 2 very tiny ones, instead of the 5 that are the norm. I'm very satisfied. His office staff are super nice.
