William Steely Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS

I had met Dr Steely back in 1989 when he was still in the army and took out my gall bladder because my hubby was in the army at the time also..I liked him then and so I decieded to talk to him about the gastric bypass and so I did and he made me feel very comfortable with everything, him and his office staff are very nice and willing to do whatever they can to get your insurance approved..and to make you feel good about having the surgery..he was very though on aftercare and want you to follow is instructions right to the letter which is good I think...he was a great Dr to me as far as I can tell right now...don't have any complains about him...he was great at it all, the surgical competence, bedside matter and all of it..He was great and I hope others will look him up also.

1) He is a very kind person who is has the air of I am here to talk to you take your time.
2) It never has after I had my spaples taken out the same day he was on his way on vacation. I called the service about 6pm that night because I thought I could go to the store. They reached him and he met me at the emergency room and I was so impressed.
3)Very caring and fell of information.
4)I'm still looking for that answer.
5)He's very truthful. He,said to me if you eat food that you should not you are going to die. If you take in more than your pouch can hold you will die. He took a medicine cup and showed me the size of my stomach. He has not once tried to sugar coat my new life.
6)To the fullest.
7)I think there is where where he could pick up he don't give out a lot of handout. The most information I have had to find on the net.
8)I had a very indept interview on compliations.
9)I would rate him a 10
10)You have to have both in order to to put your total self in someones hands. This is a very serious surgery. If I did not have a good repour with my Doctor I would not have had had it done.

The part of the experience that I did not like was tht I could not care for my self in the manners in the hospital. As woman we can be so mean to each other. I can remember crying having to ask someone to help me to do the simple hygene things. This is a very painful procedure. My child took off work and she had to litterly bath me. And go places that as she said she did not know was in the contract. But, after the pain is gone the life I am going to save is mine.

He is really nice. He has seen my husband. He also did the WLS surgery on a friend and she said he was absolutely wonderful. I will know more Feb. 2, 2001 at my first appt. regarding WLS. Sorry I never updated here. Dr. Steely is great. He takes care of the patient his staff is kind and his nurse Sandy will always answer your questions.Please be sure to follow his direction and you will do fine. He continues to see you for a while after your surgery.

i like Dr. Steeley, he seems concerned.

dr. steeley is great!!! he took lots of time with me and answered any questions i had. he drawed pictures for me of the procedure and explained what exactly he would be doing. he explained that this surgery will change your life if you let it and stressed the after care i would have to keep up with in order to make this a success. i am still pre-op so i will give more opinions after surgery.

post op 14 days and have lost 17 pounds already!! Dr. Steely was wonderful!! he has a great bedside manner and truly acts like he cares. i think the importantence of your surgeon taking time with you means a lot cause he is the one person you depend on to tell you what to expect and how you are going to feel after each step.
