MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF MY SURGEON WAS THAT HE WAS NICE AND THAT HISBEDSIDE MANNER WAS GOOD. HE WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND ATTENTIVE TO MY NEEDS. THERE WAS NOTHING THAT I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT HIM. I KNEW FOR A ALONG TIME THAT HE WAS THE MAN THAT I WOULD PUT MY LIFE INTO HIS HANDS. HE HAD BEEN IN THE BUSINESS FOR 34 YEARS WITH NO MORTALITY RATE. I WAS IMPRESSED BY THAT.

Dr. Sweet was wonderful and very supportive. It is a shame that Lancaster County hospitals did not appreciate his talents nor accept this surgery with an open mind. Lancaster lost a great Dr. when he relocated.

He is very straight forward and really cares about his patients. His staff was/is very helpful. He is really good at what he does and I would highly recommend him.

he's a tough cookie with a heart of gold.
office staff are spot on!
he's tough and thorough because he really cares about the patient ands whgo he is helping!
after care is as inportaint as preperation for surgery! as a matter of fact, after care exceeds in support group and available on line group.bill's bed side manner is a tad droll initially. i think he wants you to know how serious this is and he is about doing this. but after the surgery he is very warm and an extremly compassionate man. he operated on my wife last october and was consistant in his care and mannerisms.

anything negative? yes! bill's quite serious at initial consultations and at times rather frightening. i believe in retrospect this is part of weeding out the undesireable patients and atthe same time instilling a sense of "how serious" this operation and what will happen afterwards will truly be!.

Dr. Sweet is very focused on the results of the overall process. Surgery is a small part of the process. He insists on weight loss prior to surgery and committment to support group and life style changes. His philosophy is great. I found him to be a skilled surgeon and a real advocate for my life change.

Dr. Sweet is a straight-forward type of person. He tells you like it is and expects you to do all that you can before and after your surgery. He is very informative and truly cares about his patients. Go with questions if you are meeting him for the first time. He addresses everything that could happen before, during and after your surgery. He is into everything the patients need to do. He even attends the support group meetings! I feel very confindent with him doing my surgery!!!!!

3-18-04 Met Dr. Sweet for the first time today. He is very direct, very detailed, and even smiled several times (some persons warned me he could be tough). I felt an immediate trust of his knowledge and abilities. His desire for my success seems to equal my own which made it feel like he had a personal interest in me, not just another WLS patient. Overall so far, I am impressed.

My first impression of Dr Sweet was why am I here talking to this jerk. He was very blunt and was telling me basically I could not do this because of having 4 children and would not have the time I needed to take care of myself. After the initial shock of talking to Dr. Sweet I realized he was seeing if I could handle this operation and if I was really ready to have it done. His office staff deserve nothing but praise. Any questions that I had they took the time to explain it to me especially when it came down to insurance questions. There is actually nothing I can say bad about Dr. Sweet except when I first met him. He is very concerned that his patients follow his directions so they do not get sick, he address all types of risks involved in this and he let me know this wasn't a "quickfix" that this was a major lifechange and I would still have to work at it. I would recommend anyone to Dr. Sweet because I feel he knows what he is doing and he is very insightful as to how committed you are or are not to getting help. As for surgical competence and bedside manner both are very important in a speedy recovery.

I have used Dr. Sweet as a general surgeon before I decided to use him for Gastric Bypass Surgery, so we already had a doctor patient relationship. He is a very stern doctor, but he has to be. I truly believe he's not in it for the money. He does what he does to help us succeed with weight loss. What he does is only a tool and it's truly up to us as to how far we take it. He believes in the surgery and he believes in his patients.

I can tell you he truly is an awesome doctor. He has saved my life by giving me the tool to succeed where nothing else has.
