SHE WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND SUCH A SPECIAL LADY. EVEN THE MOST MINUTE QUESTION WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO HER.
Emily is a sweetheart. She tells it like it is but with compassion and humor. I completely understood my goals and how to attain them. She gives options and puts the power in your hands to succeed. She has written material, visual aids, and a huge chair. I think I was most impressed by how genuine her words are. She inquired about my family, my feelings and my dreams. That REALLY means a lot. She wants the whole person to be well.
POST-OP NOTE: I was very disappointed. Emily didn't come see e at the hospital as promised. I was pretty nervouse about the post-op diet without her guidance. I did fine but I wish she had been there for me!
Emily Blackwell was Great. She knows her stuff. She went over everything dealing with eating as an post op. I knew the basics before coming to this appt but she explained why its important to not eat and drink and why its important to not get prego until 12-18 months post op and other things to help me get a better understanding of what happens after the surgery. She informed that if i have any questions to give her a call anytime. It was worth an hour drive and $60.00.
I met with Ms. Blackwell 5-6-03. We started with getting my current weight. She gave me the Gastric Bypass Surgey Meal Plan and we reviewed each page and talked about each stage of the diet. She told me ho much I could have and exactly what I needed to eat and what I needed to do to maintain good health. She had measuring spoons, 1 oz. cups and measuring cups so that you can see exactly how much you will be eating. She had a lot of good ideas and said she is availale to answer any question me or my family may have. She works with 30 to 40 Bariatrc patients a month.
