I had a good experience with this hospital. Most of the nurses were very sweet and on the ball, the only complaint I had was that sometimes the nurses wouldn't get told that I had called for them by the girls at the desk. I think that happens everywhere, and they always apologized if that happened. I had the same nurses alot of the time, and there was very few times I waited for anything. I think that it was a very positive place to heal.

My surgeon's staff was great. The care I received from the nurses was sketchy. They gave me a sugar popsicle the first night and a yougurt that was 10 days over due the second day. Equipment in rooms is old and dirty. (Nurse call button had blood on it from previous patient.) Shower is small and disgustingly dirty. Some good nurses. Normally night nurses were the worst.

I do not have anything good to type about Community Gen Hosp. in Syracuse NY, I could not go through the Bariatric Surgery Program and the Doc connected with that hospital due to my insurance company not perticipating with either one, also Community Gen Hosp is not a center of Excellence of Bariatric Program, well Community Gen Hosp is fast at taking the 300.00 dollars for thier "administrative fees" that is supposedly nonrefundable, well that money sure is nonrefundable, I tried to get my money back from them due to the fact that I could not finish nor have surgery there, and they attempted to tell me at first that the money was for appointments I had had, when I told them I checked my insurances web sight and they had paid for all my appointments and I paid all my co - pays, Community Gen Hosp then changed the story to well you did attend the informational meeting and you did attend one of the support meetings. So I asked them if they charged for the support meeting, they must have charged 150.00 a piece for each of the meetings. During one of the phone calls I made, the person tried to tell me that they paid for my nutritional consult with the 300.00 dollars, I told them if that was the case I would call my insurance Co (MVP) and tell them that Community charged twice on a consult, and I believed that was against the law, well the person sure changed what they were saying quickly. I still do not not know what I received for my 300.00 dollars, I didn't receive anything from Community Gen Hosp. for my money, I am sure glad Faxton Hosp does not charge so called Administrative fees......

They were very nice. Most of the nurses were on the ball with the exception of a couple. I waited for a while for pain meds 2 times, and also had a problem one night with my IV and waited 30 mins for someone to come back and fix it. Other then that my stay was nice, and they took good care of me! I met a few very nice people.
