Denton Regional Medical Center Hospital
With the exception of two day Nurses who did not manage my pain meds very well, and 1 night nurse who was always right there when I needed pain meds or anything else, all was good. My only complaint was about two of the three Days Nurses. My praise goes out to the night Male Nurse, very caring, very understanding, and one outstanding individual.
Overall my experience with this hospital was just fine. I was in a lot of pain when my bed was rolled into my room. The nurses were busy setting up IVs and other monitors, but they did get to my first dose of pain meds fairly quickly. They always responded within a few minutes when I asked for pain meds during the rest of my stay. I had a private room and it was quiet at night. During the day I could sometimes hear noise from the construction underway on the new 6th floor. The chairs in my room could convert to a small bed which allowed my mother to stay with me the first night after surgery. The ability to have a family member stay with you brings a tremendous sense of relief and comfort. Overall the nurses did just great - friendly, courteous, helpful. There was only 1 nurse I did not like and if she was on shift, I just asked for another nurse. They delivered the correct no sugar, clear liquid meals. But the food, of course, was terrible.
