Elmbrook Memorial Hospital Hospital
The one thing that upset me was when it came to my pain medication. I can remember saying right out of surgery was that i was in pain. I remember repeating it over and over and over and getting no respond. I was in constant pain and the staff had issues with dealing with that. Either they had to wait for a specific time to give me the medication, or they had to call my doctor for a new medication -- they weren't excited with my persistentness. All the staff was friendly and helpful but when it came to the pain i was in... not so helpful. The rest of my stay was pretty well. The only actual thing I didn't understand was why they kept trying to take my blood day after day and failing each time. I swear I was poked at least 12 times in my two and half day stay. After swearing loudly the last few times I literally told them to give up and that they were not allowed to keep poking me. Minus those two specific things, my stay was okay.

Their staff were awful and not helpfull ever! The staff were always confused and had no idea what the heck they were doing. The would not let you get one minute of sleep EVER! They never managed my pain not one time. They retaliated when I bothered them too much for normal requests like severe pain. There was only one RN on so she was busy just despensing meds but a lot of the time the assistant was better anyway but unknowning of what was going on always. I will never return again and will tell as many people as I can what a horrible experience I had there!!!!
They are incredibly responsive to patient needs and I can't say enough good things about their patient care.
I am a nurse so we tend to be a little more critical of the medical facility because we know how it is supposed to be. That being said, I can't say enough good things about this facility. In nursing school this is how I heard it would be, but never has been. The facility and the care was wonderful.
