Mercy Hospital Hospital
I was very pleased except they seemed a bit short-staffed at night. There were few RNs and they were stretched thin at night. Of course, all hospitals are short of RNs. I was also really pissed the first two nights because I was awoken every couple of hours for blood drawing and/or blood pressures. Sleep deprivation is torture! Other than that, I was very, very pleased with this hospital. I highly recommend it, Susan Martinez, and Dr. Irani.
I was hospitalized again after my surgery because of complications (stricture & dehydration). The nurses and doctors were concerned and supportive, although there were problems meeting my dietary needs. They kept sending me regular patient trays. I was only a few weeks out from surgery. That was frustrating.
I really liked that I had a private room and that certain business staff came in and introduced themselves to me and made sure we had no complaints and were happy with our stay.
My experience was wonderful! From my preadmission 2days prior to the day I was realeased, everybody was so sensitive. I'm not extremely large but they had this huge bed with the trapize on top which was for help in pulling yourself up in bed. It was more annoying for me so they pulled the bed out & brought me a regular bed. They automatically put me in a private room. They asked if anyone wanted to stay over & they would bring in a recliner. The hospital nurses were so attentative and for the most part I always had the same RN & CNA for their whole shift so they knew exactly how to help 'ME'. I would recommend this hospital to everyone.
