My surgeon was wonderful but my nursing care was horrible!!!

The staff is wonderful and as a patient I was very well taken care of. I'm sure I'll get to choose Mercy again in the future.

The medical team is very nice and helpfull and every one is willing to help you. It was a great place to be for getting my surgery done.

The hospital is going to be adding on a separate Bariatric area, which will be wonderfull. I can't wait to be there when it is opened to see all of the progress.

The orderlies at the hospital continuously ran me and my wheelchair into walls, other patients, doors, etc.

While waiting for surgery, all patients who had been fasting since midnight the night before, were hearing the nurses reviews of our local restaurants.

There were no private rooms both times I had to go in although the last time I went in, a private room eventually opened up and I was able to move to it...much to the dismay of my roommate who had requested a private room 5 days prior to me. After I left she had a private room anyway.

Staff is friendly but very busy,being a nurse myself I don't care to have others touching my incisions without gloves on because I don't know what they touched prior and I didn't see anyone wash their hands.Let them know it's your body and they don't have the right to introduce germs into it.The nurse even discontinued my IV without gloves on.

I think that the Evening and night nurses were the best. I was on ICU the first night and I had a great experience. The evening and night nurses seemed to be a lot more caring than the day staff. The day staff acted like they were "too" busy.

I only have minor complaints. The hospital was very full when I had surgery and I could not get a private room. Also, because they were so full the nurses could not get to me as soon as they needed to. I waited 2 hours for pain meds one night after I asked for them.

I was overall satisfied with my care at Mercy Medical. I do have concerns with the amount of loud talking, laughing, crashing noises late in the night when it is already difficult to sleep. This noise amount of noise at midnight and 2Am was consistent on all three nights of my stay.

At the time of my surgery, they were short-handed. Sometimes assistance was slow - but always friendly.
