I would be doing this man a grave injustice if I didn't give him rave reviews! He listens to you as a patient (at our first consult he mentioned the RNY, but I wanted the DS and told him why, and he agreed that I had done my homework and knew what I wanted.)

He never acts rushed during your visits, he gives you his undivided attention, and his staff is awesome. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and got back to me promptly if I left a message.

The morning of surgery, he came out and spoke to me while they were starting an IV, and went out and spoke to my husband after surgery to let him know how everything went (surgery only took 2.5-3 hours).

When I developed issues 2 days after surgery (right before he was going to release me), he came to the hospital at 4am to personally find out what was going on. (I couldn't walk...literally. It turned out to be an electrolyte imbalance).

He is a great surgeon, and I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area.

Dr. V had been excellent on preparing me for my revision. When I first started my journey with him I felt like he is going to do his best in getting me back on track and he has. I would recommend him to anyone that wants to have wls or a revision

Dr. Voellinger is a WONDERFUL man. I love him dearly and I owe him my life! He is super encouraging and always takes the time to listen to your concerns and give you true and honest feedback. GOD FORBID he is EVER on time, but he makes up for it with his attention. The office has changed recently because it was bought by Novant. Due to these changes, alot of people are not as happy as they were before, but I think that the purchase has a ton to do with the economy, just like everything else. I have got a lapband and he has dealt with EVERY issue I have ever had, including massive reflux, a flip-flopping port and weird hiccups that turned out to be a hernia....

Dr Voellinger is a great physician and a fine man. He seems a bit no nonsense at first but is actually warm and funny. He did a great job with my surgery! I am 7 months out 75% weight loss (93 lbs) and I am excited about life. I am grateful for having had the opportunity to walk out of that hospital a different person. Dr V. is very blunt about surgical risk, he is more than competent and very knowledgeable.
The nutritionist is more geared toward RNY and Lapband but with the vast support from my DS group I am figuring everything I need to know out.

Dr. Lowe is AWESOME !!!!!!!!!! My new life began on Oct. 5 2011with RNY. I had my 1 week post op check up today and down 10 lbs. He has giving me and my family a new start. All my life I had been struggling with my weight, but I got sick and tired of being sick and tired of myself. Now all I can say is Thank God for Dr. Lowe and I am ready for this new adventure!!!!!

Dr. Lowe is an awesome surgeon... He is friendly, funny, and knows what he is doing... He has a great bedside manner and never seemed to be bother by the numerous questions I had for him... He helped ease my mind right before it was time to go back and that really will be a moment I will never forget... all his staff and even the staff in the OR at the hospital spoke so highly of him and its obvious the resect they have for him... he must be doing something right... I would highly reccommend him to anyone in the Charlotte, Gastonia, Lincolnton areas considering WLS to meet with Dr. Lowe and you will not be disappointed! :)

I think my surgeon is the greatest! Yeah, the process is long..he has alot of requirements: seminar, classes, paperwork, appointments, 2 week liquid pre-op diet...BUT, I was well-prepared for all that VSG entails, got insurance approval 1st time around, and had a truly uneventful surgery! All the "pre" stuff is in the patient's best interest. My recovery has been smooth, & I feel truly grateful for the skill & knowledge Dr. Voellinger posesses! His staff is great..willing to answer any questions & help in any way they can. Thanks Dr. V for the second chance at a "normal" life!!

My first impression of Dr. Voellinger was a great one. He's straight-forward, informative, and shows a genuine desire to listen and help. I was referred to him from another surgeon who no longer performs RNY. He stream lined the patient process and accepted all paperwork as is from my old surgeon. Others in my area weren't willing to do so-meaning me starting over from square one!. His staff is great as well. He clears time to see each patient through every step of the way from the initial consult-through recovery-and through all post op visits. He is also determined to promote long term success and has a dedicated post-op team that work with you beyond the surgery date. He communicated all aspects of the surgery good and bad-no tables were left unturned. I rate him as a 10.

First impression; Dr.Lowe is awesomely professional. My impression of him has not changed, only hightened! I think his office staff gets you in and out rather quickly.Dr. Lowe strategically goes over ever aspect of the procedure both before and after as well as take the time to understand you and your feelings.Yes, he has a very organized and well structured aftercare program. He is very thorough in the fact of making the patient aware of any complications and risks. I absolutely adore Dr. Lowe. I love his keen level of professionalism, honesty, bedside manner and his ability to be empathetic as well as sympathetic when needed.I think both surgical competence and bedside manner are great because you have to be able to connect with your doctor in order to trust him with you body as well as your new found growth and developement!
