I WISH I COULD HAVE STAYED ON THE BARIATRIC UNIT,BUT IT WASNT OPEN YET.WHAT A WONDERFUL ADDITION TO THE HOSPITAL.I HAVE FAMILY THAT WILL SOON HAVE THE SURGERY AND I HOPE THEY WILL GET TO STAY ON THIS UNIT.I DO THINK THE ICU NURSES OR GREAT,BUT THE REGULAR FLOOR NURSES,NOT SO GREAT!

My insurance company required that I stay overnight for observation, so I was transferred to a room upstairs after surgery. The staff was wonderful to me the whole time I stayed there. They were extremely helpful. There is a reason this hospital has a Circle of Excellence in Bariatric Care!

I was given wonderful care. Being a part of this program I know the players here. Believe me everyone knows about the place they work. I have worked at other hospitals where the people would go elsewhere for surgery because they knew the type of care they would recieve. I knew what type of care we give here so I chose River Oaks. I am very glad I did.

I had one bad experience with a nurse in ICU but once my mother contacted my doctor, the problem was rectified immediately. Besides that experience all the other nurses and nurses assistants, were all wonderful. Upon discharge from the hospital, I met Sherron to let me know all things that I should expect or things that possible would affect me during my transition. I have been to the support group meetings at Twelve Oaks, which are very informative because you get to meet new people who have had surgery and those that are thinking about having surgery, whether it be the lapband or gastric bypass. Going to the support group meetings helps me to remember that I am not in this alone!!!! Thumbs up to Donna B.

This hospital has an excellent bariatric coordinator. Donna Boehm is the solid foundation to weight loss surgery at this hospital. She will answer any question you may have at anytime. She is just a phone call away. THe day I had my surgery she actually came into my room and sat and talked with me and made me feel very very comfortable with the decision I had made and thank god for that decision. Donna you are wonderful and to this day I have found a wonderful, caring friend that I truely cherish. If you are thinking of having weight loss surgery and are unsure of the hospital choose River Oaks in Houston TX, you will be thankful you did.

The nurses were quick to respond to any request I had, check out was easy,the room was very clean, the staff professional with very caring attitudes. I had a large private room that was quiet, clean, and had all the accomodations I needed. I'd recommend this hospital to others and select it for future elective surgeries.
