St. Anthony North Hospital
I don't really have much negative to say about St. Anthony's North. The nurses I had were wonderful, as were the aides. My room was near the nurses' station so it got kind of loud sometimes. And sometimes they would enter the room without even knocking, but that didn't happen often. Even other nurses who were not taking care of me were very nice and supportive and commented on how I seemed to be looking better every day. It was a very good environment to be in for 4 days.
Even though I had a different nurse each shift, they all were the best in the world. They knew what I could and could not do but they pushed me to do better each time I got up to walk. There was one RN that was so caring and understood what I was going through, she was excellent. And when I had problems, everyone was right there and helping me and telling me that everything would be alright.
As a nurse myself..I must say all the staff I had care for me were very nice and professional..and attentive to what ever I asked of them. My only negative comment would be concerning the nurses aides (the RN's were great!). Most were young..seemed over worked and never once in my 5 day stay offered to help me with a bath. They would set up a basin of water and leave. With a starting BMI of 60..I could have used a bit of help!
This hospital is so excited to have bariactric patients its overwhelming. I have found all the departments to want to share in your excitment, pictures and successes. I have gone back to share and they are so warm and caring. I just had my gallbladder removed and they all wanted to know why I hadn't brought my pictures and how I was doing. I find that amazing.
