St. Francis Hospital Hospital
I was very impressed with the care I received at St. Francis Hospital. I felt that the nurses were well informed and supportive, however, I did not see the nurses much after my surgery except to give me medications and check my incisions. As a nurse myself I knew post-surgery protocol so was doing what was required. Although I didn't need encouragement, the staff was supportive and friendly. They took the time to explain procedures and inform me of my procedure change and why the need to change it. (Was changed from a BPD to a Gastric Sleeve due to liver concerns) My future health was taken into concern and was protected while still being able to give me a tool that would be useful in achieving my weight loss goals. Enjoyed my stay and those who cared for me.
My experiences with Saint Francis has always been positive. Had a bad experience with the answering service for the covering doctor on the day I was discharged. Called back to one of the nurses in the hospital who cared for me. She got everything taken care of even though I had been discharged and she had no responsibility to do anything for me.
St. Francis is well organized and CLEAN. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have been to the other large hospital here in Topeka, Ks and I have experienced very unhealthy conditions such as old blood on beds and dust on equipment in patient rooms. There is no other choice in my mind of where I, ir my family, would have any of our proceedures in the future.
