Virginia Mason Hospital
It seems well organized from pre operative through post operative levels of care. Alot of thought went into this facilities program for bariatrics. I really liked how the process was explained & how each department involved hd good take home info. I still review my info just to "re-center" myself to stay on my life long new eating journey. I have had 2 issues regarding having the surgery done, so i feel good about the Hospital choice I made because they kept in contact with me & informed!

Virginia Mason staff was on skeleton staff over the holiday so being in the hospital was not so great. I waited the longest for transporters (to the x-ray and from my room to discharge) and that was less than desirable. Also, the parking garage was locked and unattended on the holiday so my ride who stayed in the hospital had quite a bit of difficulty getting out of the garage!
I got great care. I do wish the staff had been more knowledgeable about my eating abilities and needs. I had read all the literature but in my morphine haze none of it was clear. I could have used a tutorial! The nut didn't arrive until day 2 and I was already coming out of the fog. On the other hand, staff were very caring and professional and I got first rate care.
