I had a revision by Dr. Halmi on the 9th of August this year. Again he was professional and answered all my questions. The surgery went well and I have had no major issues, just a little tenderness. Laproscopic surgery is much better in my opinion. Minimal localized pain, and I was out of the hospital the same day.
Dr. Halmi has been very competant throughout the entire process. He gave me all the information I asked for, key words asked for. If you don't ask him, he wont tell you. He will answer any question you have, but seems hesitant to offer more than just basic information unless you ask.
He performed the surgery on me with minimal problems. I have a scar that looks like it will be virtually unnoticable, there was no pain after the second day, I have had no problems eating, and feel great.
Dr. Halmi's staff is very good and made the paperwork a breeze. The Dietitian Deana is fantastic, and very easy to talk to!
I would definitely reccommend Dr, Halmi to anyone seeking Weight Loss Surgery.
Dr. Halmi and Bluepoint did an excellent job of supporting me before and after my procedure. Tiffany and Maria have really helped me with planning meals and adjusting my meds to get me on the path to feeling better. I had minimal discomfort after surgery and was back to work in a week. I would highly recommend Dr. Halmi and Bluepoint to anyone seeking WLS in the Washington DC area.
Dr. Halmi was wonderful! I felt very safe, and secure with him, and the monumental surgery he was doing for me!
Gail, the ins. coordinator, was beyond exceptional, and if I had my way, she would get a massive bonus for the above and beyond that she did for me. If it weren't for her bending over backwards to help me in my situation, I wouldn't have been able to have my surgery.
The only downside I've had is, both of my post-op appointments were messed up. I made them for the office closest to me, only for them to call a few days before hand and tell me I had to go to the other office, which in VA. traffic = nightmare. My second post-op, they scheduled me for the Dr. and then over booked the NUT, so now I have to go in twice!
Irritating yes, but over all, the best experience of my life.
Dr. Halmi is wonderful! He has a great bedside manner and is a very skilled surgeon. I felt very comfortable during the entire process of having my surgery. I am so grateful to him and his whole team for the support they have provided.
When I first met Dr. Halmi he listened to my concerns, answered all my questions, and helped me decided which WLS was best for me. Dr. Halmi did my VSG on October 18, 2011. He is a good doctor and he explains things to his patients and seems to really care and show concern for them. We talked about surgery and the risks that were involved and he explained everything to me and made sure it was all clear. I still keep up with my aftercare. I have had no problems with him or his coworkers that I have interacted with. Overall I am very happy with the treatment I was given and get from him and his office.
Dr. Halmi is indeed an exceptional surgeon! From the day that I met him before surgery, he always showed concern about me, my history, and where I wanted to be in the future with my weight. I had my surgery on March 15, 2010 and have had amazing results! I also had a few bumps in the road. Just last week, I went into Dr. Halmi's office with the worst pain in my stomach. He quickly saw me and admitted me into the hospital. The next day, he lead my surgery to repair a bowel obstruction. He never second guess his thoughts on what needed to be done. The day he told me that I was having surgery, he showed so much compassion; he knew I was so upset to have to return to surgery. Thank you Dr. Halmi for everything you have done to save my life!
Dr Halmi and his staff are wonderful. Dr Halmi had performed the same surgery RNY on my daughter 7 years ago as well as her tummy tuck. She has lost close to 170#. I was amazed at the care they gave my daughter and for the entire time with her follow up visits. So when I was contemplating my own surgery this was a natural choice. Dr Halmi and his staff have been su pportive and non-judgemental. We came to a decision about what surgery would be best for me and went on with the plans as to how to get insurance approval. I followed the recommended guidelines and on 12/10 I received my long awaited approval. Looking back it wasn't that long at all considering this is a life long decision. On 2/24/11 I was admitted to Potomac Hospital for my RNY. I checked in at ^am and at 830am I was wheeled into the operating room. I had my surgery and went to my room and from the beginning I couldn't believe how good I felt considering. But my mind had imagined it would be quite a bit worse and it wasn't at all. I had done it and I was proud and excited to have accomplished the surgery after all and was looking forward to my new journey in life. The hospital and staff were amazing. They are a caring group of peopleand the private room with the pull out couch allowed my husband to stay with me for support which meant the world to me. Even when i had to go for my xrays etc. the other Departments were even great. From the time I rolled in to Potomac to my escorted wheel chair ride out everyone was wonderful. no complaints at all. So if your considering Dr Halmi and Bluepoint Surgical you will be glad you did. I had some health risks that were well considered and adjustments made and precautions taken and all went well. Before and aftercare are important here. I am so happy I chose Dr Halmi and Bluepoint for my WLS.
Dr.Halmi is one of the best Bariatric surgeons in the northern virginia area. My consultation with him went well, he answered all my questions. I feel safe havin him perform my surgery. Now his office is another story! The front desk staff is VERY in efficient and un professional it's a shame the doctors are great and they have this staff who are, horrible, and don't know the meaning of customer service. On top of the front desk one of the doctors that works in the office who performed my endoscopy, couldn't explain to me why the next day after his procedure on me the whites of my eyes were blood red (scared me to death) when i called to talk with doctor at first he wouldnt take my call, I had to act ignorant on the phone to get a call back and the doctor was very unprofessional told me he has never had that happend and to go see my primary doctor( im like for what u did the procedure), any way make a long story short went to another doctor to find out it was from his endoscopy (I gagged really bad). Glad I dont have to see that dude anymore . If Dr.Halmi wasn't as good as he is I would be at another surgeons office a long time ago! Hope anyone else who has Dr.Halmi has had a better experience, this is my opinion only! maybe I feel this way because my office where I work we are very professional and proficient, not perfect but dam close to it.:)

I can not say enough fantastic things about Dr Halmi!! He is so thoughtfull and caring. On the day of surgery in the OR waiting for everyone to get ready and waiting for the anethisia, he stood and talked to me and it helped calm me down.
He is a gentle and kind man that made me feel comfortable with him. The other doctors that work with him are fantastic too. One of them chased down my nurse to make sure that I was getting my medications that were unrelated to my surgery.
The program is terrific. The nutrition class given by Ashley and Catherine answered everything one needed to know about the pre-op diet and what to expect for the first two weeks of the liquid diet. They also helped give some ideas to start out on the mushie diet when I can start it after my doctor's visit 2 weeks after surgery.
Dr Halmi and his doctors and nutritionists are amazing and I would recommend them without hesitation.
I will say that I was very disappointed with the office staff. With the exception of the front desk person, the staff always made me feel like I was bothering them. They even messed up the financing of the surgery when I specifically explained to them how to put it in the system per the finance companies instructions. And this is their finance company.

I have attended his support groups since May 2010. The group and staff have been very welcoming and supportive even though I was having surgery with another group. For insurance reasons I had to switch surgeons and it was a no brainer. He is extremely thorough, conccerned and has the nicest disposition of any physician that I have ever seen. He is so personable and knowledgable. Now to get a date and get on with life.
