Stephen Madry Plastic Surgeon MD

Dr. Madry is awesome. I had a LBL w/ Medial thigh lift on 2/12/07 and can't be happier. Dr. Madry is very thorough and will take the time to answer all your questions. He'll explain what he can do for you and what you can realistically expect.

His bedside manner is great. He's so enthustiastic that you can't help but feel at ease with him.

Dr. Madry performed a breast augmentation, "mutilation" on me July 1999. I was referred to Dr. Kagan, by my primary care provider, but Dr. Madry could me in earlier. I was in my 20's, in a new state, with a new job, no family in the area and had never had plastic surgery. I did not know what to ask or look for. I had very large breasts and extra ancillary breast tissue that went up into my armpit. Dr. Madry said that he would liposuction that out during the procedure. He reassured me that he had done this before and that it was uncomplicated. I liked him as a person, but I know now that's not enough. I believed him, he was very comforting verbally and quite charming, but he never took notes (not a good sign).

The day of the procedure, as he was drawing on my body where he would make the incisions, I reminded him about the extra breast tissue that he said he would remove. He told me he had not said that, but that he would try to get it during the surgery. I should have got up, taken off the hospital gown and left. I felt obligated and like I had to go through with it, and so unfortunately I did. Dr. Madry did make my breasts smaller. But unfortunately they were two different sizes, point in odd directions, my nipples were removed and I have diminished sensation in my nipple area, my areolas are different sizes and the extra breast tissue was not removed. The left side already had extra breast tissue to begin with during the surgery that is the side the he removed less from and removed more from the right side. So they are more lopsided than before he began.

I came back to see him twice after the surgery. He reassures me that my breasts will look better after they heal. I came back for my 3rd follow up appointment and he was just gone. I talked to Dr. Kagan's receptionist and she said that he was just gone, they didnt know where he had went. So, here I am with the these smaller but lopsided breasts and the docttor is gone, and no one can tell me anything. In the meanwhile, I am having a hard time with my insurance company and my medical leave. Because although, they approved the surgery, Dr. Madry didn't write down barely any medical information and he is gone and nobody knows where. So, finally I make an appointment and tell Dr. Kagan about what has happened because by this time my breasts have healed more and you can definitely tell that there is something wrong. He does take a look and agree to try to fix the situation. In the meantime, I find out that I am pregnant. He tells me that I can come back after I have the baby. After having the baby and all that requires I began to have doubts. I want to breastfeed, my baby and tried hard but nothing will come out. My obstrectecian, finally advised me to give the baby a bottle. I am scared to deal with anyone at that point and just resort to living with the situation as is.

I am older now and feeling more and more self conscious about the way my breasts look. I had considered taking Dr. Kagan up on his offer, but after reading the information about him on this website, I will not. Next week, I have a consultation with a Plastic Surgeon that I hear and from what I have researched has a good reputation. I do not know if I will go through with a reconstructive surgery or not, I am just curious about what he has to say.

Dr. Madry takes the time to answer your questions and is honest in what can be done. He is realistic in his approach with explaining the best possible outcome of the procedures you are interested in. His examinations are very thorough. I am one week post-op as of 12/6/06 and I am extremely pleased with my results. I had a lower body lift and thighplasty. Dr. Madry had a lot of work to do on me and he took the time both in the OR, hospital visits and post-op visit to care for me and answer my questions. On my first post op day, he was the one who got me out of bed, untangled my lines, etc. and checked my dressings. He was always positive and took the time to explain or answer any of my questions. I would not hesitate to have him again for my plastics. I will be having more plastic surgery in 2007 and I want Dr. Madry as my plastic surgeon. I can't say enough about him. I rate him a definite 10 on a scale of 1-10. Update: I had my second round of plastics on 3/12/07. Had a brachioplasty and breast lift with augmentation. The results exceeded my expectations. Dr. Madry is definitely a skilled and artistic plastic surgeon. I will have some face work done this winter 2007 by Dr. Madry. I wouldn't go to any one else. He rates a 10+ in my book! Update 12/11/07: I had a facelift and lipo on 11/24/07. I am very pleased with my results. Dr. Madry outdid himself this round. My face is so nice, small and firm. I am 2 weeks post-op and you would never know it. No bruising.

Dr Madry does great work so he has a lot to be proud of. He did my husband's panni last month (July '05) and now it is my turn for my belt lipectomy coming up on this Saturday, Aug 6th. I am excited for the surgery coming up but obviously not the pain that goes with it.

I have been a patient of Dr. Madry's for over 5 years and would never even consider going to another surgeon. He is not only considerate but highly skilled. I recently had a tummy tuck and breast augmentation. I am so happy with the results and have received a lot of compliments.

Nothing about my surgery went the way it was explained. I really never felt comfortable with Dr. Madry from the beginning, but I fully trusted Dr. Guske so I did not follow my gut feeling, which was a HUGE mistake. The only reason I am posting is to let people know to listen to your gut even if you totally trust your surgeon. If I would have followed my gut I would not have had to question all my complications. I finally realized I needed to take control of my own recovery and decided I needed to leave this practice and go somewhere that I felt TOTALLY COMFORTABLE and TOTALLY CONFIDENT in the surgeon.

Dr Madry is one of the MOST compassionate and caring physicians I have ever come across. He is talented and confident and I am having MORE plastic surgery done with him this month! You will be very happy with him and his staff.

I was incredibly tense about seeing a surgeon for this proceedure, although I was determined to have it done. From the moment I met Dr. Madry he made me feel at ease, and treated me with kindness and respect! I trust him entirely!
