Topic: RE: Gall Bladder had to come out
Nope. My Dr. did not have me on anything to prevent this from happening. I knew in the end that it would have to come out sooner or later because of the weight loss. I read alot about it when I was doing my research into WLS.

Hi Suzanne! I'm glad to hear that you are doing well after your gall bladder surgery.
I hope you don't mind me asking, I had WLS on January 10, 2005 and my surgeon had me take Actigall for one year to prevent any problems with my gall bladder. Were you also taking Actigall after your surgery?
This crossed my mind since I wondered if the Actigall truly prevents problems with the gall bladder.

I have been able to go back to normal eating without a problem. I was never nauseous before surgery so I was lucky about that one. Keep me posted on your progress.
Topic: New photo on my profile
Hi gang. I been so busy I haven't had time to catch up, but I did manage to put a new photo on my profile. I feel blessed and lucky to have made this journey and not have any complications. I feel like a new person. God bless my surgeon, Dr. Lin and his staff.

The doctor will be prescribing lortab for me. She said she can do it laproscopically as well. Has the surgery affected your eating? Right now, I am usually nauseous. I am hoping that following the surgery, the pain in my "gut" for lack of a better word, and my nausea will go away. I am glad that this is working out for you. Take care of yourself.

I have to say that the pain is much worse today than yesterday but the vicodin has been helping with that. I did manage to get out today and shop a bit which was nice. I am able to get around so much better this time around. He was able to do it laproscopically because I did not have ton of scar tissue from the surgery so hopefully it will work out that way for you too.

Hi Suzanne
I am glad to hear that the surgery is not that bad. I have to have my gallbladder out on Thursday the 23rd. I am also looking at two weeks out of work.

Topic: Gall Bladder had to come out
Well I had a fainting spell at the beginning of the month, probably due to stress but my dr ordered a bunch of tests for that. When I had the abdominal scan they noticed I had gall stones. I was having some pains to the right of my incision but I never thought it was my gall stones.
So I saw my surgeon on Tuesday for my one year appt and he said my gall bladder has to come out before it gets to bad and I cannot bear the pain.
I had the surgery yesterday and I am home recouperating. I have 2 weeks off of work. I am really pretty good on the pain level. This is a piece of cake compared to the bypass. I think since I had a lot of pain with that one this has not been that bad. I did not even need any calming meds before the surgery. I was calm as a cucumber, I trust my surgeon a million percent. And when I woke up I did a great job and I did not need any pain meds. I guess weighing 145 pounds less really helps.
They all told me this was common about us that have had the surgery. I just wanted to share my experience with you. I hope everyone is doing well. I am just 5 pounds from my goal, of course this puts a kink into things since I am swollen. LOL

One-derland is weighing below 200 lbs (ie. 199 or less). Another thing you may see is people refering to the "Centrury Club" - having lost 100+ lbs.
