OT: American Idol
OMG, this is just wrong, just wrong!!!!!!!! Chris should have been the next AI, hands down! I think the others are very talented, but when you are looking for an "American Idol", Chris had it all: natural performer, great voice, the look, everything. It's not American Ballad Singer or American anything else. That's why Ruben, Clay, Fantasia, etc. have not done well. They don't have that Idol thing like Kelly Clarkson does.
I am crushed that Chris got sent home, but you can believe that I will buy his album as soon as it comes out. My votes will now go to Katherine, who I personally think out of the 3 remaining has the best chance of succeeding with a recording career. She has a little Kelly Clarkson in her. I adore Taylor and Elliot has a great voice, I just don't see them as an American Idol. As my husband said, "I would never run out to buy tickets for a Taylor or Elliot concert."
Anyway, that's my humble opinion. I'm now going to go mourn the loss of Chris!!

I hate the fact that Chris was sent home. I am a HUGE TAYLOR fan anyway. I wanted Katherine to go home. But I have a question for you. Who told you that Ruben was not doing well? He is in the process of making his 3rd album, he is producing, and he's doing different shows (Bishop T.D. Jakes and Essence festival) just to name a few. I'm not trying to seem mean or anything, I just don't want someone to think Ruben is not doing well when in fact he is doing great.

Octavia:
I have not heard Ruben's name since his season of Idol went off. I can understand why people would think he is not doing well. I have not heard anything about Fantasia or Carrie Underwood, either (Carrie because I am not into country music...I know she has a hit song out).
But Kelly Clarkson is amazing and all over the place...
Anyway...I knew you were not trying to be mean...neither am I...but I have not heard anything about Ruben since he was on American Idol.
Have a great day!

Your right Octavia. Many folks do not see the R&B charts. Being from Birmingham we know what he has been producing. I am just so excited to see the boys from Bham doing so well.
I have been dialing in for Taylor and hope to see him as the next AI. Even if he is runner up, that will be fine. He can have leverage with his record deal where the AI will have to be committed to AI for a year (I believe the time is right).
Susan:
I stopped watching A.I. but DID try to catch Chris from time to time. I cannot believe he was voted off, either. I mean...come on!
Now I hope Taylor wins...just because he seems so genuine.
I do not think we need to worry about Chris, though. He is going to go far...with or without the A.I. crown!
Hugs,
Jersey Mom
