Midnight Munchies

Kay, I feel the same way. What I do now is have a protein shake around 9:30 p.m. which ties me over. I think our appetites are increasing as our pouch is healing. I had some snacks that were good and just decided to give them to my son to eat and not buy anymore. It's definitely a fight! Karen S.

This has always been my downfall, too. And especially so this last week or so. This is really goofy, but my method of counteracting the urge to go to the kitchen is to feel myself up (LOL!) -- the fact that I can feel my hipbones and collarbones is always a good reminder to me that if I eat, I won't be able to feel my bones anymore. And I don't know why, but that works for me for now. And along those same lines, now that my bones are coming out, I have realized how very fragile the human body is and I've commented about that to my hubs more than once. I've never felt my own bones before in my life and I'm nearly afraid to fall for fear I might break one. LOL.

I get those munchies too. ALL DAY LONG!!! So I dug out my kids snow cone machine. (Target $9.99) Hawaiian Snow Shredder Not the snoopy one. I freeze these hockey puck size blocks of Crystal lite and then shave the ice. 1/2 cup makes about 2 cups. I love eating big bowls of snow. Its lite and fluffy and tasty and it looks like alot, but really its only 5 calories, and it takes time to eat. I have expeirmented with my other favorite beverages like Diet Rockstar and 7 up plus (when it freezes all the carbonation leaves) again 0 calories. My kids love it. They always ask for some yellow snow Its a great way for me to get in my water too. Other favorites Grapefruit and lemonade. They make a sugar free syrup that you can pour over plain ice.

Kay, me too. I posted something similar to this a couple of weeks ago. Like many, I can go all day without caring about eating anything and then the sun goes down and the monster comes out!! I, too, try to figure some of this evening eating into my food for the day. I try to drink a protein smoothie in the evening to help with that sweet need. This is definitely a demon I need to conquer as it's partially what led to my gaining weight in the beginning. I know it's head hunger as I'm not physically hungry at all. My challenge is to figure out what purpose eating at night is serving and try to fill that need with something else. Anyway, I'm right here with you, babe. Let's all stick together to fight the late night munchies!! Lisa S.
