Exercise ideas?

In the last two days, my knee has been bothering me. I had surgery on it several years ago (arthroscopic) because of an old injury. It has always been painful, but better since I lost weight. However, yesterday and today it has been really painful and I didn't do my usual 30 min walk last evening. I need to keep doing exercise so my question is, does anyone have suggestions for exercise I can do that will be aerobic but not hard on my knee? Any ideas would be appreciated. Diana

I have problems with my hips and my trainer told me to do some things in a chair. I use the walk away the pounds dvd's and they can be done in a chair just by lifting your legs up and down and doing the upper body part. Leeanne

Hi Diana I also do "Walk away the pounds". When I started out at 450 lbs. I couldn't even walk from one room to another without my knees hurting. I started with this dvd and before you know it, I was taking walks outside. This tape really helped me get started. I still use them if it's raining. I got mine from Ebay for .99 cents plus $4.00 shipping. Walmart also has them for around $10.00. The tapes come in different levels from beginner to one mile walk to three mile walk. I'll send her website about the tapes then you can decide on which tape to start out with. http://www.lesliesansonevideos.com/ Good Luck Kay

Diana, Can you head to the nearest pool and swim? That should be low impact on your knee. Hope it starts feeling better soon. Karen S.

Hi Diana - have you tried water aerobics? Also, when my knee was bothering me I did the elipitcal backwards - less impact on the knees that way. Hope you're feeling better soon!
