POLL: Share all your vitamins.
Hello
I am sick of my iron, multi and calcium and need a change. I got my labs back yesterday and he said the only thing that is low is my iron. I am guilty of not taking my iron like I should. It's liquid and NASTY! I need some ideas on some new things to take. So come on share with me on whatcha taking everyday.
Here is what I take in a day....
B-12~ 1 Sublingual by twinlab..cherry
Calcium~ 3 Citrical Citrate creamy bites.. choc.
Multi~ 1 Centrum Chewable.. orange flavor
Iron~ Some liquid crap .. gross flavor
Thanks
Kay

Don't think this will help, but here are mine.
B12 sublim. once a week
Flintstone (SamsClub generic) chewables w/iron 3 a day
Viactiv chewable calcium (yes I checked with the surgeon and he said with the proximal I absorb it fine)
Biotin 1 day
That is what my surgeon has me take, brand and all. He feels the iron in the multi is enough. You might try eating more red meat and brocoli for the iron, liver would have the most, it's the best way to get iron anyway. I eat alot of red meat, I tolerate it the best.
I haven't had labs done yet. But I asked my surgeon about the calcium a couple weeks ago. He said he has had great success with the brands and amounts he prescribed with all his patients, most of the iron problems are after a year or so. Calcium he said the carbonate is ok for me because I am a proximal and I absorb enough with that form of surgery.
I am not sure when he askes for labs. I know I feel fine, have had no problems and I'm not tired much, don't even nap, haven't but once since my surgery. My friend didn't have labs till a year out. Hers were fine, that was almost 2 years ago.
I lvoe the flinstones, well the generics from Sams Club, it's like I get candy once a day. 3 sweet tarts and 2 chocolates. I usually grab them when I start to get that snacky feeling in the afternoon.
Hi Kay!
I take bariatric advantage chewable iron (passion fruit flavor) and my iron has been fine-they taste like sweet tarts and you chew one per day-they have other flavors as well
I also take tropical oasis liquid multivitamin that I purchased from bariatriceating.com-2T per day and I feel such a difference when I take it-it doesnt taste that bad for a liquid and I break it up and take 1T in the am & 1T in the pm
I also bought the liquid calcium on the same sight and I use a liquid raspberry flavored sublingual B12
I personally prefer taking the liquid if I can because I think it is definately absorbed more efficiently then a chewable and defiantely more than a pill-good luck finding something you like

Hey Kay:
Here is a list of all my meds/vitamins in a day...
Morning:
- I used to take a regular prenatal vitamin but have switched (two days ago) to Flintstones chewables. 2 in the morning. But I find them so gross that I may go back to my prenatal pill.
- Calcium pill (non-chewable). Not sure if it is 500 or 1000 mg
- B-12 sublingual (I was told to drop from two a day to one).
- Fexofenadine (Allegra)
- Wellbutrin (not a vitamin)
- Levoyxl (not a vitamin)
Evening:
- Prescription iron (I think it is called Niferex)
- Vitamin C (500 mg). I got a HUGE, honkin' bottle from BJ's Wholesale
When you consider the fact that I HATE taking pills, this kinda stinks. But...ya gotta do what ya gotta do!
Hugs,
Jersey
My labs are fine, except for my B12, which was waaay low. Here's my daily stuff:
Morning:
1 Centrum Chewable
1 Citracal
1 Biotin
1 Niacin
1 Fish Oil (GNC dude said it MIGHT help some with skin elasticity, so I'm trying)
1 sublingual B12 (Spring valley dots)
Evening:
1 Centrum Chewable
1 Citracal
1 sublingual B12 (GNC liquid)
I also get B12 shots twice a week (my hubs has gone waaay above the call of duty on these, since he gives them to me)
