My First Day In Heaven

Hi everyone! Today was my first day at Lane Bryant and boy was it interesting. My day started off with my manager instructing me that I was the Greeter lol. I was to stay at the front of the store and make sure to talk to people and remind them of the sales- no prob bob, I'm a chatter box! Well, for some reason, the cat had my tongue for awhile! After an hour or so, I got the hang of it and was chit chatting along and having fun. I also got to inform everyone of the Cacique sale- Buy 2 Bras, get 2 for FREE! AND buy 3 panties, get 2 free... how cool! It was fun, yet kinda boring lol. I don't really know what I'm doing yet, and just feel like a third wheel. I make sure I'm doing stuff all the time though, like straightening the racks, making sure the hangars are right, putting clothes back- talking with customers. Now the goodies... Normally employees, oh my official title is Style Expert! HAHAHA, Style Experts get 40% off of their purchases every day. But like one weekend a month or whenever the clothes change they have a special sale called Sophie's Closet that gives you an additional 15% off for a Grand Total of a whopping 55% off!!!! Whooo hoooo! AND this Sophie's Closet sale is this weekend lol! So... I'm returning the ts and tanks I got a few days ago and using that money and my discounts to get some work wear. After going through my closets, I definately don't have anything dressy/casual to wear to work! ACK! I don't HAVE to wear LB clothes, but its kind of embarrassing to tell someone I got my shirt at WalMart lol. That happened today too! They're all, that shirt is so cute! Why thank you, I got it at Wal Mart lol!!!!!! The point is to sell the LB clothes, Jaci LOL. Another perk- I got my own locker! If only I can open it! Dial locks and me do not get along, lol. At band camp in 7th grade, I don't know how many times someone had to help me unlock my Tuba cabinet lol. Crossing my fingers!!!!!!! I work again on Sunday, but will be shopping for some clothes on Saturday- wish me luck!

Jaci, I glad you had a good time. I would venture to guess that you will be more busy tomorrow anyway since not as many people shop on Thursday nights. I had to laugh when you said, "one time, at band camp..." "American Pie" flash back!! Dawn

It sounds like you had a great first day. Your career is off to new levels - style expert leads to manager - next thing you know, you'll have a whole series of stores under your leadership! I bet you'll get training on making outfits. I wish we were closer, I am planning to swing thru there this weekend as I need some new bras; they have a nice non-underwire one that I wear to work out and I now need more than one! Oh Jaci - how fun! I used to work at LB a few years ago and their Sophie sales are GREAT! Sounds like you're off to a great start!! Have fun but don't spend ALL your paycheck on new clothes! ~anna oh - nice reference to "American Pie" - this one time, at band camp... hahaha

55% off is incredible! that is an awesome perk. Too bad you won't be able to use it for very long Do you get the discount on their catalogue as well or only in the store?

Actually the catalog and LB are not the same company! Don't ask me what happened there, but they are two seperate entities and confuse the heck out of alot of women. I dind't know that until about 3 years ago when my boss (who wsn't my boss then) told us. The discount is in store only, but LB has a new program called LB2Me which free of charge to the customer, will find the perect article of clothing for you at another store and either have it shipped to the store or to your home!

Jaci, I wish I was in Heaven with you! I say shop away (grinning wide, hopefuly you will shrink out of them soon!) I am sooooo happy for you! Please tell us what you buy! Congrats! Mel

You want me to buy buy buy so you can wear them later!!! No cheating Melissa! LOL!!!!!!! I brought home some boxes from Jack today (all fry boxes lol!) so I've got about 5 more for you after I fill them up. Do you like tapered leg pants? I can't stand them and was going to donate them to Goodwill, but if you'e game- they're good brands too... rockies, Gloria Vanderbilt, etc etc. You hve all my LB jeans so far.

Jaci, you always make me happy when I read your posts. I am so thrilled that you got a job that you can buy new clothes all the way down. Well, there will be a day soon when they no longer can fit you. So, you will have to move across the mall to the Gap or Banana Republic---go girl. I wish you lived in Texas and I would come buy a bra from you today. haha. Let's face it, dressing pretty helps make us feel pretty. I think it is a positive way to keep us feeling like we are really making a change in our lives for the better. I wish you the best. Celeste
