The hospital for me too...

Last Wednesday night I started having horrible sharp pains where my stomach is. I rode out the night in much pain and called my surgeon on Thursday morning. I was so afraid it was something from the surgery! I spent all day Thursday in the ER and they determined I had gallstones...totally unrelated to WLS. Thursday night I was violently sick...it was horrible! Friday morning I felt better...they decided I had passed the stone but still wanted to remove my gallbladder. So Saturday morning I had surgery and I am now gallbladderless. I've been dragging since then...trying to regain energy...but I have no desire to eat, etc. Keep me in your thoughts...I'm fine...just feeling very sorry for myself. Jen

Wow, I'm sorry this happened Jen! What a bummer to go through pain, hospital, another surgery and all that dragging that we all remember after WLS. It will get better!! Hugs, Beth

Glad you are on the mend. Rapid weight loss is one of the causes of gall stones. So the WLS is an indirect cause of the stones. My doctor put me on Ursodiol for 6 months post op to keep me from forming gall stones. Janis

Jen~ Oh hun...I totally sympathize with you!!! Gallbladder attacks are worse then childbirth!!! I'm glad the docs figured it out fast...so many times I hear of people going through attack after attack for months and even years before they finally determine it is gallstones. Well at least you can be happy and know you will never experience that again. Dawn
