Have you ever dumped?
Hi~ ********* TMI WARNING**************
For lunch we went to a mexican resturant and I ordered a burrito. I only ate the insides and asked for no cheese because full fat cheese gives me the runs.
When I got home I got the foamies, start gagging, sweating and my heart starts beating fast. I don't understand what I could of ate to cause this. Is this dumping or just cybil (my pouch) not liking mexican food. I thought I was makinga good decision by just having the beef, beans, lettuce and onions. If I knew I was gonna feel like this, I would of got cheese and sour cream and just enjoyed it for the moment.
I ended up going to sleep and just woke up. I have tried drinking something hot but cybil still feels yucky.
So have you ever dumped? Is this what happens?
Kay
It does sound like you could have dumped a bit, possibly on the seasonings or fat in the beef. I haven't dumped like that yet... but I did a weird kind of dump on sugar alchohols... I got all tired and couldn't move and had to take a nap. WEIRD!
I have heard of people dumping on fat... beef is high in fat unless it really lean. I don't have a problem with it since we raise our own beef and its SUPER lean. I haven't really tried anyone elses....
Sorry I wasn't much help!

Hang in there
Your not alone.....................
Oh yes....
Back around 7 weeks I tried 2 small bites of fried fish and chips. But I never even got to try a fry. I instantly started feelig like something was stuck in my throat and I felt my chest tighting up..I thought i was having a heart attack. About 20 plus minutes later I started to have tightness in the chest then I threw up....And I haven't touch fried fish or anything else since......Also toasted garlic bread once i tried 2 small bites at a restaurant and I wanted to cry but had to stay calm since I had my nephew, son, and niece with me. After 5 1/2 hours walking and trying to stay calm my angel told me to take several small sips of water and finally i got that to come up.....Soft bread items and anything fried or greasy is not aloud past my lips.

Sorry this happened to you! Its happened to me a few times, all different things. Once was tomato soup. ANother time it was Pad Thai noodles at a restaurant, after just 3 bites; that time made myself puke to feel better.
For your recent situation I would guess it was the fat in the lower quality ground beef. In mexican restaurants (which I do well with) I choose cheese/bean things or chicken and eat just a bite or two. And guacamole works well for me but should be tried with caution as its higher fat and may be problematic for some.
Sugar lurks in a lot of food. With all my restaurant dining I now always ask about sauces and if even remotely sounds like it may have sugar, I move on or ask for no sauce.
Hope you feel better!!!

Hey Sue,
Do you dump or do you think it just doesn't "sit well" in your pouch? To me, these are two different things (I know the difference now, unfortunately...see my other post in this thread!
) I mean dumping would refer to sugar or fats being deposited into the small intestine, shocking your system...the insulin level rising and fluids rushing into the intestine in an attempt to "rid" itself of the offending substance (sugar/fat). If you have gotten sick on lettuce, maybe it just not pouch friendly? Just tossing out ideas...
I know...either way, it's not fun, right?!

I'm guessing maybe the fat did it? I know some people are sensitive to fat and can dump on it. I don't have that issue.
However, I did dump for the very first time a couple of days ago. You don't want to know what I ate.
Anyway, it wasn't a good choice nor was it anywhere near being considered WLS Friendly.
I was nauseous, gagging, trying to/wanting to throw up but nothing would come up
..the damage had been done. My heart was pounding and the bottom line is: I felt as if I were drugged. I couldn't go to the gym, I couldn't do anything but lie down for about an hour. Let's just say...I AINT goin' there again!
I have also gotten sick on other foods, but mainly because they "get stuck" or don't sit well in the pouch. This was entirely a different thing...and I NOW know the difference.
Tell Cybil to calm down!
