Rambling....

Well after consulting w/my surgeon on Friday, it was suggested that I start back on my protein supplements, at least twice a day. I am struggling at getting below 198. I've been here for 2 weeks, and prior to that had been on a 3 week stall. Although my surgeon feels I should be getting all of my protein from food, he said that obviously I need assistance. I bought 2 bottles of IsoPure and tried to drink them today - I just couldn't do it - I gagged the whole time. So today I went back up to GNC and bought some more Tasteless Whey Protein (I used this when I was newly pre-op), and I'll add that to the S/F Carnation Instant Breakfast drink. I hope this works to help me get back on track. I haven't been able to exercise now for over a week. I sliced the bottom of my foot on June 30th..... I was standing on the frame of my bed reaching the top shelf in my closet. When I hopped down, I didn't see that my high heel was turned over and when I hopped down, the arch of my foot landed on the sharp heel. Talk about pain -- I'd much rather give birth, seriously! It needed stitches, but I refused to go.... big mistake. Despite me cleaning it out, it got infected. Last Thursday I ended up at the med center, and they had to drain it. Yes, they had to stick a needle in my foot. I told them I could handle the pain as long as I didn't have to watch them do it! LOL My foot is healing, and I should be back to the treadmill tomorrow Anyhow, thanks for reading my ramblings!! Susan

Whoa Susan.... I'm sorry about your foot. That sucks alot I'm sure! Good luck with the treadmill tomorrow!!! Also, the protein is what keeps me running. I love Luna and Atkins bars as well as the Slimfast drinks for low carb diets!

OUCH!! *winces*..wow..that sounds painful! I sorry that you went through all that! I drink a protein shake daily...usually for my breakfast...Im supposed to get in 90 grams of protein a day and Rufus, my pouch, simply rejects most meat...I mean, I can only eat so much cheese and eggs! So I do make protein shakes..I have NO apoetite still and nothing tastes "great!" anymore...Im thinking that much of the protein powders that make me gag could well be a psychological issue I have. However, I couldnt possibly get in my 90 grams without my 30 gram protein shake daily. I had bought a whole case of Isopure bottled drinks..struggled through half a bottlr and there the rest sit.....out in my breezeway..I just cannot stomach the taste of it. What a waste fo money! Hey Susan I'm so sorry to hear about your foot. It sounds painful. If you say you would rather give birth, I KNOW it had to be a painful experiance. LOL I hope it's feeling better soon! I also hope adding the protein shakes makes your weight drop in the next few days. I have been slacking on my 2 shakes a day rule and need to get back with it soon. I enjoy people's ramblings.. Feel free to let it go whenever you need to! Kay

OMG Susan...your foot story freaked me out!! Ewww....that sounded horrible. I hope you are back on your feet real soon and able to get in a good exercise routine. Good luck with your protein. There is not a shadow of a doubt in my mind that I am low on protein daily. Dawn

Hope your foot is better soon. I still have usually either 1 shake or AchievOne drink per day to make sure I get in all my protein. I still can't eat very much at one time, so I have to supplement protein. Hang in there. Karla 337/238/150

Susan, ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! I feel so sorry for you. As for the protein supplements, I try to get at least 2 in per day, but lately have only been getting in 1. I need to do better at it and cut down on the carbs that have been sneaking back into my diet. Take it easy on that foot and let it heal! Lisa S. 227/155/140 5'6.5"
