Wrinkly Arms and Thighs
Since I've lost nearly 100 pounds since I had my surgery in January, I've recently been noticing that my upper arms and my thighs are kind of "wrinkly"..... Needless to say, this really bums me out!
Okay, I have to make a confession here in order to solicit any helpful advice: I haven't really been doing ANY exercise since I had my surgery. I've been fortunate to still have lost a great deal of weight, but I am wondering if I start making exercise a part of my lifestyle if the "wrinkles" might go away or get any better, or if it's a possibility that it's "loose skin"....
I refuse to have sort of plastic surgery on my arms or legs or even a tummy tuck! My mother and some friends had these procedures done and they said it was worse than the GPS itself! (My Mom had such a terrible outcome that she won't even wear short sleeves!)
Any suggestions as to what kinds of exercise might be helpful would greatly be appreciated!

Excersise should help. My legs and thighs look great!
I've been working out on the treadmill and at PT they have me doing leg presses on a Total Gym.
Now there are my upper arms
That's a totally different story and no excersise will help them - too much loose skin and will definately need PS or I'll be in long sleeve tops forever

I have lost a total of 180 lbs. and have really wrinkle and saggy arms and thighs. I was 450 lbs. so I knew it was going to happen. I don't exercise either so that could be a big reason it looks the way it does. I do walk a mile everyday but evidntly that does not work. I ask my surgeon about skin issues and he said that walking along will not get rid of skin. Maybe you can walk with weights or start doing leg exercises.
I'm also scared of plastic surgery.

Hello. I think that, for the most part, most of us who have lost weight drastically experience something on their body that they don't care for. I, too, have the flabby under arms and the upper thighs. I have no intension of having surgery for these items (although my insurance covers the panulectomy at 100% so I may have that, not sure yet). But I'd rather be a little flabby (and wear clothing that covers these items) than be puffy and filled out. Just my thoughts.
Enjoy what you have, work with it. Besides, in most cases, it's not at bad as we think. I thought that my arms looked horrible in sleeveless...but they really don't. I took a picture, sideways, and was so impressed by what I saw. I am wearing sleeveless and haven't in 20+ years!
Be proud of yourself, whatever yourself may be.
Best wishes!
Smile!
