Calories
hi all, just a question about calories, on a average day how many calories do all of you eat? my doctor has never mentioned calories, she wants me to eat a protein, a starch and a fruit 3 times a day and two healthy snacks, plus 1T. fat each meal, do any of you eat this way? I am not losing really fast and just curious.

My surgeon said not to focus on calories. He said to aim for 75 grams of protien a day, eat lean meats and veggies and be very careful of the bad carbs.. his words exactly! I usually get between 550 and 650 everyday. I am trying to increase it but it's hard when I'm not really hungry. My weight loss has slowed down and from what I'm reading it's because I need to eat more.
The weightloss surgery for dummies book has a very good breakdown on what our nutrition should be like as far as fat, carbs, fruit and etc.

You are so right Kay, I stopped eating cause I wasn't hungry and went on a weight loss stall. If i don't have the food in front of me I forget to eat. But if I have it in front of me I overeat. I started eating right and have dropped 6 lbs in like 7 days. My surgeon says about 1000-1200 per day or your body goes into starvation mode. Another thing also, I am sooo busy with a husband, full time job, a 2 year old little angel and exercise I get home really late and that equals to dinner really late. This week I stopped eating late, my last meal is about 6 pm no later and then I have a Nectar Ice Tea protein mixed with lipton iced tea and lime with splenda and lots of ice around 8 or 9 and I have noticed a big difference in how fast I am losing.
