Late night munchies Anyone???
Hey ladies
Last night I couldn't sleep so what did I do to keep myself occupied.. munch and walk back and forth from the kitchen to the living room. What the H*LL was wrong with me last night?
This is what I had between 12:30 am and 3:00 am.
I'm totally embarrased about this but!!
1 tsp. of peanut butter
1 SF ginger snap cookie
2 cheese cubes with 2 saltine crackers
2 peices of beef jerky
4 green grapes
Yes I have done a lot worse in the past but I was out of control last night! Anyone else have the midnight munchies???? Usually when this happens, I just get a couple grapes, a SF popsicle or chew on a couple peices of jerky. Last night, I guess I "needed" more.
Like April said in her post.. " I need a miricle" or just smacked upside the head

Kay,
I am right there with you... except I don't get late night munchies... I get early evening urges to eat! When I get home from work I am a munch-a-holic. Which, I should just eat dinner right then, but I am NEVER in the mood for a meal, just a snack (or two).
I have been trying to work on this, but haven't had any solution yet. The best thing for me is to leave the house so I am not tempted. But, as you have late night munchies... I have no real solution for you... only to say that you are not alone.
And, what you are eating doesn't seem all that bad to me... my snacks are usually brownies, cookies, chips, and the like. Full fat, full sugar.
Maybe you can split your dinner in half; eat the first half at dinner, save the other half for later and when you get the urge to snack, have that instead? I don't know, just had the idea come to me...
If you find a solution, let me know!
Well I'm right there with you Mary. I'm OK all day long until after dinner. Then I just want to munch on everything in site - nuts, sugar free ice cream, luna bars whatever is handy. In fact most of my calories for the day is from dinner onward.
I need to find something to change this behavior. I'm pretty sure this is what's slowing my weightloss - more calories in, less weightloss.
Kay, it seems like what you had wasn't all that bad, but still it makes you feel guilty. I know how you feel! Some days it's just like that, and you're going to have more days like that. It means you're normal
. Sometimes, I'll do that and either have a good day at the gym the next day or I'll just go on with my life. If it started to happen all the time everyday, and my food choices were gettin a little iffy, then I would have to check myself. In my opinion, that was a pretty good late night snack you had, so you did pretty damn good! And girl, I still need a miracle but I've been pretty good today!

Ok Kay! I so understand what you're saying! I have days where I can just stuff myself with whatever and yea, its usually AFTER dinner! We have these Mexican cookies that my mom loves and omg, they are amazing! only 7 grams of sugar and I even get some protein... but I don't want to eat them all the time ya know? After I eat one I always feel guilty..... ugh. I need to hide them lol!
I bought somemore SF popsicles, yogurt and cottage cheese, at lease I'll be having something nutritious if I wanna snack...

I'm right there along with the rest of you. This was talked about in my support group and people suggested a protein shake close to bed and how your sleep quality is reduced when your body is hungry. So maybe the solution is a profect or some other high protein drink? I've tried it a few times, dunno if it worked or just so happens I was not hungry that nite.
Sometimes I have 3 SF fudgesicles in a night. While that's all of 120 calories, I worry about the pattern.....
To slow down I think about chewing every bite to a pulp and count, striving for 30 chews. Like before, when I was munching, I ate at faster pace.
Kay, many of your choices were protein related...pb, cheese and jerky.
