I have several reports lost at the docs office, and now the day before pre-op I get a message on the answering machine that THEY NNNNEEEEEEEEEDD My pulmonalogy report, that office said they faxed it a month ago, and again today, and still need that report or start over. I could drink, if I were a drinking person I sure would tie one on. I think I will just have a good cry, my furbabies will comfort me and kiss away my tears. I now have to leave from my house in the morning at 5am to see if I can get the pulmanologist to give me my report, even thou it is aginst his rules for the patient to receive the reports personally, how else will I get it there? I tell you if this makes me begin every blooming thing all over, I think I will just say to heck with it and died as big as a cow. Or bigger, I should say.

I know how you feel. I had several reports lost, and had to get them again. Luckily most of them were done at the navy hospital, so it was easy to get another copy. Still having to do anything twice is frustrating. I try and keep the end result in mind when problems arise. My dr. had no problem giving me copies of the results. If they won't give you a copy have them fax it while you stand there. I don't care what people think about me, so making a scene when I need to is what I do.

Back in the day when Drs had more controll, they wouldn't let you see the reports, but now, with the Freedom of Information Act, they HAVE to let you see them, so they shouldn't give you a problem about taking them over personally.
I had a Dr. give me a copy of my post operative after one of my surgeries and you woulda thought I was robbing the bank!! He didn't want me to have it but I insisted and got it. So don't let them tell you you can't have the report, it is about YOU and you have a RIGHT to have it.
