Hello all you Jan people :)
I just wanted to stop in and say how excited I am to be here. I have a date and I can't wait
January 23rd in Redding Ca. at 7:30am. I have my preop on the 17th. I would like any input you all have about what you are doing to prepare for the big day. I look forward to hearing from you soon. we will all be BIG LOSERs soon...never thought I would LIKE to be called a loser...lol
I have surgery on the 20th. To get ready I've been getting my house in order. That way when I have my parents here to help with my daughter I won't worry about them doing housework. I've been eating all my favorite foods. I have my preop on the 9th. I hear some people get liquid diets for a couple weeks before surgery, so if I get that too I've already eaten all my favorites. I'm not nervous about the surgery since I don't have any control over it. My husband is more worried than I am. I will be leaving my 16 month old for the first time overnight, so that's what I'm worried about. I know that it's the best thing for me and my future.
Hi Ronda
Welcome to the board and Congratulations on your date! It will be here before you know it!
To prepare I am reading WLS for dummies. Its a great book! I'm also trying to stay caught up with cleaning my house and washing clothes. I made a list of vitamins, groceries for post op and stuff to bring to the hospital.
Good Luck and I hope all your weight loss dreams come true
Kay
7 days til surgery!
hi Rhonda; I will be having my surgery at 7;30 am in Syracuse ny. I will be 3 hours ahead of you. I am preparing by getting plenty of fluids in and starting the vitamins and supplements they recommended.I had preop today and they said i did n ot need to do anything special prior to surgery.Keep me posted.Patsty
Hi, Rhonda. You and I will be having surgery the same day.
Preparation: Per the surgeon, the Monday before I start a deli meat/salad/low sodium soup diet. Saturday before just jello, popsicles and broth. Yummy! I'm really looking forward to that.
I know that the headaches will come due to the sugar being gone. Then no meds are allowed for that week prior. I can't wait to see how my attitude is...my poor family!
Kidding.
What are your pre op instructions?
~Kim
Congratulations Kim
I am soooo excited. I have to lose 10 pounds before surgery so I had my last meal tonight and I start my diet tomorrow. proteing drink in the morning, protein drink at noon and high protein dinner NO SNACKS...this is going to be tough but well worth it. I have been drinking my water and staying away from soda. My kids have been sick so I am praying that I do not come down with something and have to cancel my date
I have been loading up on the vitamins and trying to take care of myself.
Good luck and keep in touch with me
