Stupid PMS!!!! 6 days before surgery and now this

And I'm PMSing. Ugh. The absolute last thing I want to do is be on my period when I have surgery. We're having a slight 'cold' snap here in Florida the highs today are only going to be in the 50s. Which usually for me is a very welcome break from the oppressive heat and humidity. But last night I was really feeling cold and just generally miserable. The last thing I wanted to do was drink another stupid cold protein shake. But I did. I only drank 4 out of the 5 I was supposed to have. But I curbed the urge to drink a huge steaming mug of hot chocolate and eat a dish of mac and cheese or anything hot. The down side is that I'm retaining water so my pre-op diet weight loss seems to have come to a halt. But I know some of it is water retention. What a bummer. This is the one thing I really hate about being a woman. Carole 310/293/155

Carole, You're doing great! Sorry to hear about your "visit" I am hoping mine comes on time, the week before my surgery! Crossing fingers! Nicole

I hear ya... mine just ended thank God!!! I wasn't sure though. Even though I was PMS this week, I still lost 5 pounds. I didn't do the "my last" meal thingy, I started slowly working my way to the pre-op diet. It'll all drop off at the end ::hugs:: Cyndi

Carole, Can you have any soup or broth? That might help with the chills. Not quite as god as mac and cheese but its warm! I had my period the week before surgury - ended the day before actually! and all I could think of was please please let it be over! Ahh, the joys of being a woman! Best of luck! Hugs, Beth

I am allowed to have broth. And it does help a bit. It is just so weird for me to be cold. I'm part polar bear and I never feel cold. Must be a combination of my low calorie intake and PMS. Oh well - by this time next week I'll be post-op and on clears and that much closer to being able to have real food!

I feel ya... My surgery is Monday, and I know that's when I'm going to start. Lovely, isn't it?

Carole, I'm supposed to get mine on the day of my surgery! Can you believe it? At first I was irritated, but then I thought, you know what, I can just wear big ugly pads and not care. The first few days we're in the hospital anyway. So I'm just getting waxed and forgetting about it. I think you'll find that it doesn't really matter in the long run, I'm sure plenty of others have had that same situation and done great. Good luck to you. Emily

I know it doesn't matter much in the long run ... I just wish I wasn't looking at PMSing the week before surgery ('cause I'm not stressed enough ) and having cramps and the inconvenience of period related annoyances while I'm recovering. But c'est la vie. Nothing I can do about it now!
