PJ's and Gowns???
Hey Kay! I'm in day 1 of my liquids and have great empathy for those who endured this for two weeks. I was sooo tempted to have just one cracker and then got myself together and moved onto more broth.
They told me to skip any PJ's as it will be just gowns. Think about it...your surgery sites will be looked at, you'll have IV's which make it impossible to get your arms into things. Save the new stuff for your return home and skip the extra laundry. Do bring a bathrobe, slippers and some loose socks.
Have you considered a vegetarian life in the new world? If grinding up meat sounds unappealing, get your protein from other sources; it can be done! Listen to your body. I have a week of liquids post op so that's all down the road for me but do give it some thought. I am happy to talk thru this concept with you and how to introduce more plant based proteins in which will help long term health.
I am bringing some nice face cream to give myself a mini facial, that way I'll be radiant as I head home.
Warm regards,
~Tiffany
32 hours to surgery
Before pictures and measurements secured
House just about clean and a few hours of work tomorrow while I endure bowel prep; laptop in the loo???
Hi Kay,
I bought a new nightgown that is more like a long t-shirt with short sleeves, but I think Tiffany may be right about the hospital gowns. I also got a new bathrobe for those walking jaunts. Don't want anyone looking at my tushie! I can't believe you only have 4 days. You know I am praying for you. I have been having some ups and downs, but I will be ok. Email me if you want to. God bless you!
Rosa
Hi there Kay--I love your posts, they make me smile
My surgery is next Mon and I did go and buy a robe, nightgown, slippers and slipper socks with the tread on the bottom so you dont slip and fal--anyway I have decided to wait to wear my new gown when I get home but I will be taking the robe, slippers and socks to the hospital--its true, between them poking and prodding you and who knows if you are going to throw up etc, I would rather do it on their gown then mine! Take care and good luck! Lori
