Good evening Ladies and gents. Welcome home to the couple of people that got home today from surgery. I am happy you had a successful surgery! I was going over my list of stuff I need for surgey for the 50th time! All I have to do now is go grocery shopping for foods I can have after surgery. The thought of grinding up meat sounds so gross ~Anywho~ Are you bringing your own pj's/gown or are you going to wear the beautiful hospital gowns the entire time you are there. I was trying to decided if I should go buy me a new gown or pj's?? If you had surgery, What did you wear? If your pre-op, what do you plan on wearing? Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I dont know what I'd do without yall! Having people to talk to that truly understand what your going through is Thank once again, Kay 4 days til surgery

Hey Kay! I'm in day 1 of my liquids and have great empathy for those who endured this for two weeks. I was sooo tempted to have just one cracker and then got myself together and moved onto more broth. They told me to skip any PJ's as it will be just gowns. Think about it...your surgery sites will be looked at, you'll have IV's which make it impossible to get your arms into things. Save the new stuff for your return home and skip the extra laundry. Do bring a bathrobe, slippers and some loose socks. Have you considered a vegetarian life in the new world? If grinding up meat sounds unappealing, get your protein from other sources; it can be done! Listen to your body. I have a week of liquids post op so that's all down the road for me but do give it some thought. I am happy to talk thru this concept with you and how to introduce more plant based proteins in which will help long term health. I am bringing some nice face cream to give myself a mini facial, that way I'll be radiant as I head home. Warm regards, ~Tiffany 32 hours to surgery Before pictures and measurements secured House just about clean and a few hours of work tomorrow while I endure bowel prep; laptop in the loo???

Hi Kay, I bought a new nightgown that is more like a long t-shirt with short sleeves, but I think Tiffany may be right about the hospital gowns. I also got a new bathrobe for those walking jaunts. Don't want anyone looking at my tushie! I can't believe you only have 4 days. You know I am praying for you. I have been having some ups and downs, but I will be ok. Email me if you want to. God bless you! Rosa

Hi there Kay--I love your posts, they make me smile My surgery is next Mon and I did go and buy a robe, nightgown, slippers and slipper socks with the tread on the bottom so you dont slip and fal--anyway I have decided to wait to wear my new gown when I get home but I will be taking the robe, slippers and socks to the hospital--its true, between them poking and prodding you and who knows if you are going to throw up etc, I would rather do it on their gown then mine! Take care and good luck! Lori

I am taking my own. I also am going to get some new undies and socks. I love new socks. I also want to get a few pair of stretchy jogging pants from fashon bug and a few nice shirts so I have something to wear out, because jeans wont feel to good.

Hey Kay!! the countdown begins!! 7 more days I am taking a robe. The hospital gowns have the best access for medical reasons and the robe over it will get me down the hall to make my rounds as I plan to walk, walk, walk! The best way to get yourself back on the road to recovery after any major surgery. Best of luck to you, Kay and all of my January family! Hugs, Julie

Hi Kay Forget about the robe or pj's!!!!! I went round and round about this and decided not to bring a robe. I did bring sleep pants and thought I would wear them when walking around but never touched them. So save your self the room in the bag and don't bother. Do bring the carmex and pop up wet ones were great to just help feel more refreshed while stuck in bed. I'm so excited for you Regards and many hugs, Ronna

Hey Kay, I don't know as of yet what I am going to bring so I am going to keep looking at what everyone else thinks. But I think I'll bring a robe but not PJ's, don't know yet. I am with you, I don't know about mushy meat! ~Dawn
