Weight loss
Hello all. I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I know I said I wouldnt become a slave to the scale, but it has happened already. Every morning I wake up and go straight to it. I know the day will come soon that I will slow down but it feels like the weight is just falling off at this point and I love it. I now know why everyone calls this "The Honeymoon Stage". Im 2weeks post op today and Im down 32 pounds. How is everyone else doing?
Good luck,
Kristi

Sounds like you are doing fabulous!
I am becoming discouraged, but definately ready to fight for success. Because of the complications I went through, I came out of the hospital weighing almost exactly what I weighed going in. Talk about discouraged!
The first week was great; pounds dropped like nothing. But the second week...
I have been going up and down on the scale, I have been able to eat a little of everything soft, so far. I have had to eat out the past few days, (I was out of town) so I am 'blaming' the gain on over-salted restaurant food. I am going backwards to full liquid/pureed for a few days, so that I can make sure my pouch is healing properly. I was a little leary of my Dr. letting me be on soft foods before 2 weeks post-op. I said I would follow his orders, but I think I'd better listen to my body... first.
I am a slave to the scale. I try not to be... I can't wait a whole week to weigh... I'm thinking that I'd better try to pace myself, though... or this will be a long road.
Stats so far:
292(biggest)/269(pre-op)/255/160-ish
Kristi - congrats on the big drop!! WOW!
I am almost 2 weeks post op and as of yesterday I was down 21 lbs. That extra time on liquids seems to really have worked for you.
Today I was supposed to go to my office but had a different kinda cramp mid abdomen so i am working from home; I just did not feel comfortable driving. Surgeon says I am OK, just healing pains as I am drinking, eating, urinating and BM. I am not yet a slave to the scale but I am highly impatient about getting back to my normal schedule. Glad you're loving it!!

Kristi that's fabulous!
I haven't had an offical weighin yet due to my setback. But according to my scale I am down 21lbs which is not too shabby for an old broad like me
.
I am guessing that I will lose slower than you young folks and as I haven't been able to excercise yet, I am thrilled with that loss

I'm one week post op and down 23 pounds. Its hard to believe. I'm sure this is just an initial major drop, but it is exciting.
In fact I already went from morbidly obese to just obese! I feel like dancing. Well maybe I'm not well enough for that yet, but it would be nice. This is definately a WOW moment. My neice Kathy got her WLS surgey date today and it is for February 28th, so we had a lot to celebrate today.

Hello Debbie,
I'm new here, this is actually my first posting...
I had my surgery on Jan 13th...so we are kind running on the same path...
I'm pretty obsessive about daily weighings....today was to first day I stayed the same as the day before....It was a bit of a bummer!! So are you saying I shouldn't weigh my self everyday? Just curious to know what the norm is I guess. Anyway, just want to say a big hello to you all! Glad to have found this site! Hope to learn all the in's and out's soon...
Bren
