Medication Question for Post ops
I was just wondering if anyone has had a major change in their medications since surgery? I used to be on over 200 units of insulin a day and havent had a drop since Monday when I left the hospital. I no longer take my cholesterol meds either since I am not eating alot of cholesterol. I am now down from 9 meds to 4 since the surgery. Wanted to know what everyone else was going thru with it. Hope everyone is finding the success I am! Thanks for your input!

Hi Sue,
They put me on a heart beta blocker a week before surgery to go for a month in duration; I was pretty stressed with work stuff and insurance games so this med protected my heart from the stress of that and surgery. I have a few days left and am glad as it brings down my BP and heart rate, all I do is sleep and I'm very mellow.
Next week I see my PCP and may go off the BP meds completely. The HB med will end in 6 weeks and I'll likely always have my allergy ones (Singulair).
I really want to get rid of that cPAP machine the most. They said within 6-8 weeks post op and I cant wait.
Congrats on your successes!!!
Hey Sue
I was taking Nexium for reflux, BP med, Iron, and Lunesta for trouble sleeping. My doctor took me off everything except Lunesta. (which I haven't been using, since I've been so bad and not used my c-pap since surgery./ my hubby says I'm not snoring now and I'm sleeping fine~~~I was only borderline w/sleep apnea.)
Glad you're doing so great! Isn't it wonderful not to have to take as much medicine?!!!
