I felt the same way after surgery. I read that some people were eating 1 or 2 Tbs. of something and I was eating and entire 1/4 C. of pureed foods. Jello is just liquid so once you swi**** around in your mouth its nothing. When I was in the hospital I was amazed at the amount of jello I was eating too and was looking for that FULL feeling. Once you move to pureed or soft foods, you will feel it.
If calling and asking your doc will make you feel better, call him. Sometimes hearing that everything is ok from the dr. or his nurse makes you feel better

Kay,
thank you so much for responding
. I thought about that too how jello turns to liquid once you eat it, but i guess im just worried. I haven't been able to weigh myself and my 1wk weighin is tomorrow and i just hope i have lost a good amount of weight (considering all this sf jellow i'm eating). I don't get my soft/pureed foods for another week, so i will definitely let you guys know how i feel after i eat then, hopefully FULL!
thanks again,
Erica

I'm glad you said that because I feel the same way as Erica. I'm on full liquids and it feels as though nothing has changed on the inside. I'm limited to 2oz meals at a time, but yesterday I had a 4oz cup of FF SF pudding and ate the whole thing and felt NOTHING. A few minutes later it felt like it was up in my throat, but I didn't feel any sensation of fullness!! I was really starting to worry.

Hi Dawn
When I get that feeling like something is in my throat, It means your full or you have ate too much. The fullness feeling is different now than before surgery.
The first two times I ate pureed foods, I ate too much. I look at it and think that I can eat it all but my pouch cant handle it all. It feels like it wants to come up or a lump in your throat. I asked my surgeon about it at my two week checkup and he said that means to stop eating or I've ate too much. It took me a few times to know when enough is enough. I'm still learning.
Good luck

I am almost 4 weeks out and I still don't have a feeling of fullness. I pretty much just have to keep an eye on the amount I am eating and just stop. Otherwise it just all backs up! SOmeone mentioned that after surgery the nerve endings in your stomach are messed up and it takes a couple of months for them to heal and to get that full feeling back.

Hi
Soft foods are much easier on the pouch, something like jello liquifies in a few minutes so more can be accommodated. Dont worry, as you get into denser foods it will be harder to eat so much and it will take much longer to clear out.
I also dont have a full sensation but have a mental que that enuf is enuf. If I am approaching too much I get a single hiccup or a sneeze and that's my signal to stop eating. Very wierd.
Let us know how your appt goes.

Erica,
We have had a couple strings about this. I was very worried and called doc's office and posted here. Thought for sure that surgeon just put nice scar on me and did nothing inside. I now KNOW that it was done. Once you get on solids, like grilled chicken. You will feel full very fast. The heavier proteins sit in your pouch and will hurt if you eat too much.
I know how much I worried and no matter what people said, I was scared. But, if you can, just wait, all will fall into place.

Thanks for posting this! I was wondering the same thing (also a 123er****il this evening.
I was eating jello cubes...about 6 of them and then BING! It hit me! I was full! Finally yaaaay!!
Until then I was wondering why all this time I haven't felt any fullness. I think once we move to full liquids and pureed foods, we'll have a better idea.
