I am almost a month out and i am on full liquid for another 2 WEEKS!!! As I read this board I see people who are one week out and having salad, chicken, tuna,Mac n Cheese (oh my god!Heaven). How is this fair. I think that my Doctor is just torturing me on purpose. When I move from this faze I go to SIX WEEKS of soft food! What the hell?

Hi Valerie! I had a week on liquids, then a week on pureed, then two weeks on soft food. On Monday I get to eat normally. Except, I don't get pasta or mashed potatoes or anything carbish until month 5! Right now, I'd kill for some mac and cheese and a salad lol. Good luck, Valerie. Your doc is playing it safe. I'd rather take it slow and safe then push myself a bit too much and end up with a problem. You can do it! *~*Jaci*~*

Just Hang in there! I'm sure your Doc is doing it for a good reason. Just imagine all the pounds melting off. Kay

Hi Valerie, I know how you feel!! 10days pre-op with only protein drinks, 1 week liquids, 5 days full liquids, and then 3 weeks pureed. I am really sick of yougut and cottage cheese but, keeping my baby pouch happy. I do have a huge case of low energy, but this will pass. Keep the faith Valerie- we made a committment to ourselves to win this battle and we will!! cj

I was on liquids for almost one month. I thought I was going to die. But, I made it... but I feel you, I know how hard it is. The thickest thing I had was a protein drink the entire time. I thought about cheating many times, but I knew that I wasn't going through the hell of surgery just to screw it up. So, I stuck with what the doc said. Hope you make it through. (((HUGS))) p.s. to alievate cravings sometimes i would just sniff food, lol. that might make it worse for some, but for me it made it better.

Valerie, I too am on full liquids for the first 4 weeks! Although at times different foods sound good I am almost always so full from all the stinkin' protein supplements & trying to fit my meals in. My full liquid diet does include low-fat cheese, beans, oatmeal...etc. Hang in there before you know it you too will have variety. We have to let our new pouches heal. I for one don't want to risk damaging the staple line or overstretching. As it is sometimes I feel like I am from all the fluid!

There are reasons for everything. I have seen some people let off their liquid diets early because the doctor sees some improvement, I see some that get extended, because something just isn't right. And some doctors have rules and it's 3 weeks fluid, 3 weeks puree, 3 weeks soft, and then start to experiment. That's what my doc says. I really feel for you. I know I can't say anything to make the frustration go away. You are in my thoughts and I know you can be strong and do this. ::hugs:: Cyndi
