Helo everyone, OK, I have tried some protein drinks-pre-made and not doing so hot with them. I ordered samples for Vitalady and I was wondering how you prepare your protein drinks?? I tried one when I 1st came home with skim milk and I didnt like it. Just thought I would throw this out there since we are all trying new stuff. Thank you, Tina 269/246/140ish -23 pds

Hey Tina I ordered samples from vitalady and the site here and dont like any of them so far. The only one I like is Designer whey from GNC. I've heard most people say its gross so I guess I'm weird! Everyones taste is different so just taste all your samples and find one that you like. In my opinion, they taste better mixed with milk rather than water. I use 8 oz of Carb countdown milk and skake it in a shaker cup or blend it in my magic bullet with ice to make it frothy. My nut said it get creative with it by putting frozen fruit and extracts in it. I sometimes put a bananna in mine. Kay

Hi Kay, I was wondering what kind of extracts do you put in your shakes? That sounded like a good idea since they don't have any calories, i think. take care, erica

Hi Erica So far I've only tried vanilla and it really taste good. My nut says try any flavor because they don't have any calories. On my next grocery shopping trip, I'll have to pick up a few different flavors. I just read in my WLS for dummies book to add a little bit of SF peanut butter to a chocolate shake for added protein and flavor. To me that sounds so good because I LOVE Peanut butter. I think I'm going to start experimenting. Kay

I like them mixed with about 4 ounces of water and crushed ice. I tried several from Vitalady.com and liked some, didn't like others. Like Kay, I really think Designer Whey is good...I have vanilla and chocolate. Chele

I like Isopure the best. It is premixed. a bit pricey but does the trick. I use 1/2 bottle a day mixed with Crystal Lite. Had a basket of other samples and they all made me

Hey Tina! I was lucky and found the EAS Advant Edge Carb Control Protein Shakes. Yes they are spendy....6 shakes for 7.50 (Walmart price) but remember you only drink 1/2 cup so it doenst make the price seem all that bad. They have Chocolate Fudge and French Vanilla. They taste really good. Chocolate tastes like chocolate milk. Hope this helps. -Sue

Hi Tina, Congrats on your successes so far! Regarding the protein drinks, the only one I can handle is Joe Robb's protein drink in chocolate. Its 25g of protein and I mix it with soy milk which is another 8g of protein. Sometimes I mix in banana but that makes it heavy. Also a drop of almond or peppermint extract is a nice variation. Its whey protein (there's lots of different kinds - soy, whey, etc..) and no artificial anything. I found it at Whole Foods and Vitamin Shoppe, I think he has a website, too. Its $22 for 17 servings which is not bad...Good luck! Tiffany

Hi Tina, I like the designer whey protein from GNC, I have the unflavored & chocolate caramel. I mix them with Soymilk FF. Give that a try & good luck. Carly

Tina, et al, A tip for those of you who like the EAS Advantage shakes. You can get them by the case at Sams. They run about $26 for a case of 24. I loved these before surgery but am having a hard time stomaching them now (shocking, I know). I'm more of a fruity gal since WLS. I ordered the sample pack from Bariatriceating.com and fell in love with several of the Nectar products as well as a Pinapple flavor I think is from Isofruit. I have been mixing all of these with different flavors of Crystal light and they are so refreshing. They're especially great when I need something sweet. Because they're so light, they're very easy to drink. The EAS started to feel like it was too thick and sitting in my stomach more. I have also tried the Nectar Cappucino. It's very good for those of you who miss your Starbucks! HTH. Lisa
