Ok i am almost 3 weeks post op and I noticed in the last week that two major bones in my behind hurt. I dont know why and just wondering if anyone had this too? I have noticed that I have lost weight back there and my behind is a little more boney than I remember. (didnt even have much of a behind even before surgery)...Any suggestions to make pain go away or help me understand would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks -Sue

Hi Sue I have read several post on the main board about people saying they have butt bone pain. Try posting this on the main board. When you start loosing weight, you loose everywhere even back there. What use to be our padding is slowly going away. Kay

Hi Sue I have pain in my tailbone area. I fell down a flight of stairs when I was 16 and broke it, I fell again in October of '04 and reinjured the same place and it has been owee ever since. I had to get a matress topper for my bed that's that memory foam stuff and that's helped a lot It only really bothers me when I'm trying to sleep or if I sit too long Regards and hugs, Ronna

Hi Sue, It's funny you bring that up, I've been experiencing tail bone pain now for about a week. Probably my butt is getting skinner. I'll have to get a pillow or something for my chair at work. Carly

Hi Sue! I'm four weeks post op, going onto my fifth, how exciting! My bum was in constant pain during week 3, then it went away.... now its hurting again. I think its the rapid weight loss. I've also noticed the back of my thighs go numb when I'm sitting in a hard chair or even driving. I don't remember who posted about that, but she said nerves move around with the weight gain and loss, so hopefully my thighs won't be numb for too long... its too annoying! See ya! Jaci

Hi Suzette, My sister is 3 years out and she has pain all the time. She bought a pillow to sit on that is made for people with osteoporosis. It has a cutout were your tailbone rests. She got it at Bed,bath, and beyond. She swears by it. You may want to get one, they are under $20.00.

I find that I am not comfortble sitting in a chair for a long period of time. I went to the movies a few nights ago and I had to keep adjusting BIG TIME. It sucked. I still have quite a bit back there so I am not buying the "You have less padding" number. I can't imagine it would only get worse the more weight I lose, so there has to be another answer. My butt just gets realy uncomfortable. Best of luck finding the answer. Maybe it is just one of those things. kristie
