I'm in, too. But I am not supposed to do anything more than walk/treadmill until the end of February. Are all of you feeling up to exercise at this point? My sides are still sore....whine, whine, whine.

I took a 1 mile walk 1 week after surgery and ended up hurting myself. I had to call my PA to find out why my left side pain had increased and she told me it was probably because I overdid it. I physically couldn't go out for a walk again for a few days (I ended up hugging a tree for support my abs hurt so much) and now only go around the house and to get the mail. I still have a lot of pain and although it is subsiding, still take the Lortab liquid. (I think today is the first day that I only took it in the A.M. and not again). I really want to exercise -- I was never a very sedentary person -- but I have no energy to do so, nor the physical capability. I have a lot of trouble with eating/drinking and am not getting to my daily goal of 40g protein and 64oz. water/liquid. I'm actually getting really down on myself and cried today. I need to stop writing now because I'm thinking this all sucks as I put it into words. Emily

You're 'normal' and dont be worried about relaxing and taking the pain meds. I was on them for two weeks and remember - after trauma pain comes healing pain/discomfort, that one took me by surprise. Try tea to help you get down liquids, the peppermint has been a favorite of many on the site. Allow yourself to heal and enjoy the down time because soon it will be gone. We'll have plenty of time to exercise in the weeks and years to come. I am 4 weeks out as of tomorrow and still sore/tender on both sides but am not reaching for tylenol every few hours and have stretched in recent days. It does get better!!! We're rooting for you!! Feel free to write if you're feeling down!!
