I see that some of you are getting in above 70 grams of protein! Where do you fit it in??? I am having a hard time getting it all in and would like ideas of what you all eat that is protein-full! P.S. I can't have fish or beans.

35 Grams I drink a Worldwide protien drink every morning and it has 35 grams of protien. Cappuchino flavored. (I got it at Trader Joes) I am sure they have them somewhere in your area. 10 grams I also made those peanut butter balls that everyone talks about and they are 10 grams each. It is the size of a ping pong ball. 1 Cup P Butter 1 Cup Oats (not the quick cook) 1 Cup Pro powder (I used french vanilla) 1/2 Cup SF Maple syrup (or honey) Mix an roll into ping pong size balls and refridge in tupperware. I eat 1 or two each day. I also eat tuna and the Turkey pepperoni chips, both have lots of protien. I am curious to see others responces I always need new ideas. I got sick of Tuna for a while.

Kristie, Are you using any particular type of peanut butter, or just standard Jif or similar? I think I'll try making these with Splenda instead of maple syrup/honey. These look good...and easy to make, easy to grab. Chele

I drink Nectar fruit flavored protein supplements. It's 23g per serving and it's very easy to drink. I have no trouble getting in 3/day and they count towards my fluid intake so 3 shakes = 24oz of my liquids. HTH Lisa

ok, on a good day. Slim Fast LOW CARB 1g sugar 20g protein with a scoop of non flavor protein another 23 g. That is 43 g. 1 oz. cheese, 10g 1 oz. meat Hamburger, or turkey, or chicken or tuna or what ever 10g Peanut butter, 2 TBS. 10g. That is 70 g. Now when I can eat more, I will get rid of the shakes, it is too easy to try to drink and not eat and you can drink shakes right out of the surgery. So that is limited for a stop gap right now.

I would say at least for me, in this early stage it's relatively difficult if not impossible to get that amount of protein in without supplementing with protein supplements. (I am still on full liquids.) When I'm able to advance to the next stage and beyond, I will still utilize protein shakes and drinks to avoid hair loss and other issues, though I won't rely so heavily on them as protein will come from food sources as well. I drink 3 shakes or other protein drinks daily between "meals". I have also been adding unflavored protein powder (Unjury.com) to soups, yogurt, etc. The instant oatmeal I have is 7gms protein per serving. Yogurt too. I can't wait to eat eggs and cheese, fish, beans... Chele

I've heard that this can be one of the hardest things to do. I've heard alot of people (and I am planning to get these) buy the tasteless protein supplements (powder form I think) and add it to meals and/or snacks. If it's truly tasteless, I am going to use that as a way to get it all in. Have you looked into any of these yet??? Good Luck.

Hi... I'm having the same problem, and I am in tears over this. I'm having difficulty eating at all! Yesterday, all I had all day was 2 slices of cheese and not even 2 ounces of chicken. I get so sick to my stomach just thinking of food, or smelling it, and when I do force myself, I don't get far before I am full. I drink fluids all day and that's all I really want. I am scared. I don't want to end up in the hospital, but I don't know what else I can do? Any suggestions? Lisa

Lisa - I had my surgery the day before you and I'm in the same boat! I can't eat anything solid really - it comes back up. I did get some refried beans in yesterday afternoon, but two tiny bites of chicken for dinner and I got sick and that came back up. I'm starting to worry about a stricture, as I'm certainly not overfilling my pouch. I wish I had an answer for you, but I may be calling my docs today about this issue. Good luck! Eileen
