Soda
My surgeon also forbids sodas for life. He says that eventually, if you just have to have one, a couple of swallows will have to be all. But, he says that we should keep in mind that soda can stretch that little pouch you have. Ultimately, negating the effect of WLS.
Enough to scare me.
But dreaming doesn't hurt.
Oh, while we're talking about no nos, guess what I had! I had a bite of my husband's raspberry cheesecake with cookie crust. I chewed it up, enjoyed and savored every second of taste and then spit it out into a napkin, rinsed my mouth. Great way to get that taste without ruining my pouch and new eating habits.
It was good too!!!

I was wanting some caffeine free diet coke and I saw my nutritionist the other day. She said to go ahead (I don't have a pouch...I have a sleeve). I pour it so it fizzes a lot and then let it sit a minute. Aaaah!!!!! Delicious!! That is one thing too I have a weakness for. I don't need it everyday, but one every few days is tasty! It is making me feel more "normal". Thank goodness!!!

Hi Kay and Everyone! I was told you can have it if you let it go flat and then pour it into a glass because more carbonation goes out that way. I tried a diet coke that way. Wasnt nearly as good as I remember it to be but like somone else said it was a nice change. Sometimes I feel like I am going to drown drinking all this water but yet I still drink what I can. Have a great day!
