Don't mean to be a downer but...
....does anyone else feel roughly the same as before the surgery? I lost 20lbs during my clear liquid phase (who wouldn't?) but I really don't feel like I have lost any weight after that. In fact I was up a pound when I returned to the doctor to have my drain removed...4 days later.
I don't own a scale because I know I would just obsess over it.
Yet, some of you are losing sizes already!
Am I alone here? Sometimes I wonder if this surgery is going to "work" for me. I have never gotten sick or even very full. I can eat more than I'm supposed to. I have been measuring everything and getting the fluids in, enough calories (but not too many) and protein in.
Ehhh...I'm prolly just complaining.
It's too early to say it's not going to work I guess. It's kind of scary though...this is my last resort for losing weight as I have literally tried everything else. If this doesn't work, nothing will I guess.

Yes, I feel the same way, but it is too early to say. You will be the last to see it. My best friend said she didn't see it until she put a pair of pants on and they simply fell off. Never saw them get loose or anything. Give it time and do what you are told.
I don't get too sick, I do get full, if I take too much in, you might just be stopping before that point, which is a very good thing. Getting full or beyond is not a pleasant feeling.
You say you are getting in the protein and the calories? Well, I don't have a set amount of calories to get in, but I make sure I make high protein/low calorie choices. I also exersize every day, are you doing that? that is also just as important as everything else.
Keep the faith,
Hi Chele
Your feelings are normal. I was feeling the same way and some days I still feel that way. I weigh A LOT more than most of the ladies on the board so I wont see a big difference for a while. The only place I can see a loss is in my face.
You will be the last person to see a difference in yourself. I'm sure you are doing fine. All week I wondered if I was even loosing weight and afraid that its WLS did not work for me either. My doc appointment was today and I have lost.
Hang in there, you are still very early out. Your time is coming where you can post your huge weight loss.
Take Care

I have been on a stall since JAN 19th!!! So I completley understand how you are feeling... Everytime I think negaitve thoughts like "is this going to work" or "welp, one more failed weight loss attempt" I have to FORCE myself to think logically...
I mean, it is stricktly scientific: If I continue to consume as few calories as I am and if I continue to have the same activitiy level it will be IMPOSSIBLE for me to not lose weight.
So, I keep my eye on the end result and I keep following my doctors orders.
Sure, I get VERY frustrated. All this hard work is not paying off yet, but I have to remind myself that eventually it will, it has to.
Best of luck to you, soon the scale will move again. Take care!

Look at me! I had surgery on the 9th and have lost 28 lbs as of today. That means you had surgery two full weeks after me and have lost almost the same amount as me, possibly even the same or more! I am SURE you've lost more than the 20. As everyone else says, you will be the very last to notice.
Hang in there...I know everyone else says this too, but really, when in the world was the last time you lost 20 some odd pounds in two weeks?! This surgery WILL work for you!!
I agree with everyone else...Your feelings are normal. I just went back to doc and I was so scared cause I thought I had stretched my pouch since I figured out I was eating to much but would dump shortly after. One thing I was told by the dietician is maybe I was eating to fast for my pouch and then when it would all settle I would begin dumping. I have found out that since taking her advice I eat slower. I usually allow 2 minutes to pass between each bite. It almost was like a sensor now goes off when I am full. Have you thought about talking to your surgeon since I was also told that if I ever found my self not getting full to call back because that means there might be something that went wrong with the surgery. Hope this helps!!!! Good Luck and Hang in there~!

Hi Chele! We had surgery the same day, and yes I feel the same way you do. My clothes still pretty much fit the same, and I keep hearing " I can see it in your face", well I want to see it in my belly! It is very frustrating, and I know for me at least my problem is that I am a control freak and I want it to come off faster, but the fact is 10 pounds a week is pretty fast! And I am constantly being reminded that it has not even been 3 weeks yet! Hang in there, I hear it gets better
