Great one month follow-up
Hi everyone,
My dr appt today went great, I adore my surgeon and his team. I go by my scale which says I am down 28 lbs from my surgery weight so I am pleased. Their scale said -25 lbs, maybe it was the water I drank on the way over??????
I am cleared to eat normal foods but not hamburger/beef/heavy meats or anything carbonated until month 3; must continue to follow the same base rules, of course. We talked about carbonated beverages and he said at month 3 I can have a little bit but not not as a normal thing - all I want is some sparkling water and maybe a few sips of champagne at a party. I can have an occassional glass of wine (I am not a big drinker, anyway). Veggies are OK as long as they are cooked and chewed well.
My blood pressure was really low and that's why I've been low energy so I am off that med - it was 105/70!!!
Also gone are the acid reflux med and he said return the cPap machine, too. I am delighted about that but will wean off it as I do get a slightly better sleep with it...when I dont rip off the mask and throw it across the room, that is.
I can exercise beyond walking at months end but since that's when I am taking an international business trip he said to go slow and not go crazy all at once.
Four of my scars look like scratches and the scab came off the last 2 today so those are almost healed.
And the pants I am wearing are hanging off me so this is the last day they will be in my closet - my first official discard.
I am so excited that I made it to this point and to those of you who are just past surgery, know that it gets better and better!!!
Happy Friday!

Tiffany,
Congrats on the great post-op appointment and the terrific weight loss!!
And, that's awesome news about all the meds you can stop. It's very interesting to me how all of the surgeons' protocols are so different, both pre-op and post-op. Your surgeon sounds fairly middle of the road.
Have fun putting away those pants for good!!
