pork and beef?????
My surgeons office says I cant have pork or beef for 6 months after surgery I just wanted to do a poll and see what everyone elses dieticians said to them because if the majority are eating it, I want to try it soon and just see if my stomach agrees with it, I love my red meat!!!!!!! thank you very much
Your profile doesn't say when you had your surgery. I had mine 1/16 I am 4 weeks and two days out. I am now on the soft food stage of the postop diet. The meats I am allowed are:
1)TENDER CUTS OF LEAN MEATS (BEEF, PORK, POULTRY), FISH, SHELLFISH
2) TUNA SALAD, CHICKEN SALAD, EGG SALAD - NO ONION OR CELERY, PICKLES/RELISH
I had beef stew the other night, made it with lentils and cauliflower instead of potatoes. I cooked it for 4 hours in the oven so it was very tender. I made a pot so we had a few days worth of food. I did not have a problem eating it the stew on night one. I had some the second night and it felt really heavy. It did not make me sick, it just felt heavy.
I have also had meatballs and salsbury steak. They were fine.
I have not tried anything that has made me sick or dump. I thought I would throw that in there just in case you have a sensitive pouch.
God Bless!
