I have been constipted for the past 2 weeks and my doctor advised me to take MOM which has worked(I take it every 2-3 days at bedtime but it hasnt worked all the time when I wake up)--I took 2 T 3 days ago and I went the next morning, yesterday nothing and today I was in the dollar store and all of asudden I felt like I was going to throw up and I ran to their bathroom--I started getting clammy and I had a BM--lots(sorry to be graphic) and never threw up--I left the restroom and then less than 5 minutes later I had to go in again and even more was released--I was sweaty, nauseous, a little lightheaded etc --I made it to my car and got home--I still dont feel 100% since the whole ordeal--The only thing I have had to eat today was 9oz of isopure liquid this morning and I have been only drinking H2O since the episode--has anyone experienced a similar situation? I dont think its a result from the 1/2 dose I took of MOM 3 days ago--any advice would help--I go to my support group meeting tomorrow so I am going to ask my Doctor then--thanks for listening-Lori
PS Should I just try to eat some soup and nothing heavy untilI am feeling back to normal??
If I were in your situation the first thing I would do is call my doctor. It sounds like an episode of dumping -- which makes no sense if you hadn't put anything in your body around the time that you experienced this. But yes, I would also be careful about what you take in -- avoiding heavier choices and sticking with simple ones; instincts are usually a good idea to follow.
Also, just another thing to mention which may help you or someone else is that plain water has a tendency to irritate and cause loose bowels and gas. That is what I was experiencing and when I spoke to my Doc and she heard that I mostly drank water she said that was the culprit. I had often felt as if when I had to go
I had to go right that minute. I was even afraid to pass gas sometimes b/c I felt as if I might have an accident
So since then I have decreased the amt of H20 and increased sugar free juices like apple, cranberry (light) and white grape and as a result my bowels have calmed down quite a bit.
