Anyone else having Left Side Pain?
I just wanted to see if the pain I'm having is normal. I've been feeling fine, with just the normal soreness, up until Wednesday night. I was sitting cross legged on the sofa, bending at the waist reading some materials with one of my daughters. After being in that position for about 15 minutes or so, I stood up and immediately felt something like a pulled muscle. Instead of getting better after a few days, though, it's been a constant nagging pain on the left side, right between the two most left incisions. I've read that a left-side pain is common for quite a while, however, after sitting in a bent-over position, I guess I might have made it worse?
It doesn't feel "internal" if you know what I mean -- it just feels like muscle. It's not hot to the touch, nor swollen, but it is sore to touch and when I move a certain way it aches.
Anyone else having this pain/experience?
Lisa,
my answer is yes! That seems to be my constant complaint. I developed a post op incisional infection and had to be opened up at the left incision site and it seems that just below that I get or continuously endure pulling and stretching pain as best as I can describe it. I am seeing my physician on Tuesday to see how much longer this may last, but I hear that it is normal.

Yes, I have pain to the left of my belly button, a little below it as well. Basically in between my two most left incisions. One is where they put the stapler, the other where they put the camera. Most of the work and muscle trauma went on in that vecinity. I have been told not to worry and it still hurts to varying degrees every day. I had surgery on 1/24 and although it does seem to be getting better it still flares up if I bend too much or twist too much -- or laugh too hard. If you are concerned though, don't hesitate to call the Dr., but it does sound like just what we all have been describing. I've heard it can go on for 6 wks or more. Take care and take meds if you need to.
