I know we are not supposed to have it, but I am curious if anyone has had ANY at all since surgery and what their pouch/stomach felt like when they drank it

I drink diet coke - does that count? I was allowed carbonation after 2 weeks. I don't have any problem with it but I restrict myself to just once a day. Otherwise I won't get my water in. Beth

My surgeon allows Diet soda a month after surgery. He says it does NOT scretch our pouch. I have had Diet pepsi twice and felt fine. There are a lot of people on the main board that drink soda everyday. Everyone has a different opinion about this subject. All surgeons are different. What does your surgeon say about it?? Kay

OMG - I found that I can eat cookies and chips and stuff that is really really bad for me but Pepsi! I would love to have one right now. I have been too scared to try it. I guess I should swear it off forever but I have no will power!!!!! Dana

my dietician implied "never again" but I refuse to believe that is true I guess. If I can never eat a chocolate bar again that is fine by me, but I would love a diet pop someday ya know?!?!?!

My doc said after 8 weeks "as tolerated". Well Tuesday is 8 weeks for me! I am dying to try a Diet Dr. Pepper, caffine free, of course

It's a never again "no" for us. I plan on sticking to the rule, even though I drank almost a 12 pack a day before surgery. I am now a diet snapple iced tea fiend. Bridget

I have been off soda for 5+ years. But I really, really miss my carbonated water. I lived on pelligrino and other like products. Today I was speaking with someone about this and they suggested fountain drinks as they have less carbonation then the bottle/can. Dunno if this is accurate but it might help....if anyone tests this out, give us a post with your feedback.

I was a diet pepsi-aholic before surgery. Have not had any since - it's really strange; I didn't think I could live without it, but I really don't miss it that bad. I have had some of the flavored waters I bought by mistake that was very carbonated, and I was on the road and needed to drink, so I shook it up a lot until it didn't fizz any more and even still I guess a little carbonation remained and it didn't feel good.
