Hi everyone! I have tried lunch meat as well as other foods- but some are sooo salty! I definately don't remember anything being that salty. Is anyone else having this reaction? On a different note- I tried a slice of marbled cheese last night and was in Heaven! I NEVER liked eating cheese by itself pre-op, but last night, oh my go**** was de-lish! LOL *~*Jaci*~*

I was just talking to my mom about the way things taste salty. When I was on my diet pre op, I did not eat a lot of pre packaged stuff because of the high sodium. Now I eat luch meat and I can taste the salt. Sometimes its such a horrible taste. My nut never talked about salt but its something I worry about because of retaining water and High blood pressure. I love cheese better now then I did pre op. It's addicting! kay

I love lunch meat now, lol. I haven't noticed the salt, but I like salty foods in general. My husband bought a pound of lean corned beef yesterday and I snacked on some today... Mmmm. Bridget

I havn't noticed things tasting salty. But even sugar free things, like jello and crystal light tast way too sweet. It's amazing to me the difference in our tast buds after surgery. Leeanne

Yes!!!! I thought it was only me. There have been a nubmer of things (prepackaged) that I have attempted to eat but they were just too salty. Other things I just tolerate the salty taste. Last night I had American Cheese form the deli - it tasted very salty. I have always liked to get the American Cheese from the deli because it tasted better than the prepackaged stuff, not now!?! God Bless, Jen

I was told to stay away from processed meats, like lunch meats, because of all the preservetives in them, and they are not good for us. Good luck and God bless. Hugs, Lynda

I've had the opposite reaction since surgery. I cannot get enough salt!
