Bleeding from where?
Hi All,
This might be TMI, but I need help. I haven't been feeling good this week, I thought that is was just stress, but I started to have some rectal bleeding this week. I called my Dr today and talked to the nurse. She said that it wasn't bad enough to come in right away, that I could wait to see my Dr next Tuesday for my 2 month follow up. I have no pain and I feel nothing, I just have the bleeding and it isn't like gushing out, just occasionally when I go to the bathroom. Has anyone had this before? It is the weirdest thing.
Thanks,
Jenn
Jenn-
While this also may be under the heading of TMI, it could be as a result of constipation and a fissure. If you have been constipated and having difficulty with BMs you can (from what I understand) cause a little scratch or tear in the lining which causes bright red blood. When my doc asks about blood in the stool he wants to know if it is like coffee grounds or if the stool is black which could indicate something more serious like an ulcer. Hope this helps - yes, I have had it happen and got freaked too! Good luck!

Hi Jenn,
This is TMI as well well but hey that is what we are here for, right?
I have had this happen to me and it was bright red and the Dr said it was a result from the constipation and not to worry too much but to keep an eye out for it.
He did also mention if it was black it may indicate internal bleeding.
Take care!

First of all, take a deep breath. What people are saying is true. It is most likely some type of internal hemmorhoid, which bleed more than the external ones. My husband had this and it was all fine. HOWEVER. The first time he saw the doctor, the doctor was not alarmed and told him to alter his diet and not to bear down to go to the bathroom. After it happened again, a bit later, the doc took it more seriously and had him go through a colonoscopy. So, if you get checked out and do what the doc says and it continues, please keep talking with him/her; they should want to go inside to see. Although an internal hemmorhoid is not serious, they can't be sure without checking it out. BUT, with all that has happened in your life recently, it does make sense that you may be having some internal stress.
